  1. Same here, except I sold it ๐Ÿ˜ฃ
  2. Stunning bass! Close to the ultimate symbiosis of bass guitar design, sound and feel (for me๐Ÿ™ƒ)
  3. Very nice ๐Ÿ‘Œ
  4. For me Steve Harris is beyond reproach given his achievements ... Love the guy!
  5. That is beautiful!
  6. Yes! Agreed
  7. Maybe only recorded with it? Killer bass sounds from the filter Pre
  8. Lol, neither can I. I was a little surprised when Mr. Cringean shared that nugget of info
  9. My ACG Recurve is apparently ex Belle & Sebastian. The Vigier branded fitted hard case for my 5 string Vigier Passion is allegedly ex Alphonso Johnson and was used on a Santana tour amongst other things (according to the previous owner who had an email to this effect from Patrice Vigier).
  10. Percy Jones has a phenomenal plucking technique utilising his index, middle and ring fingers.
  11. I owned one a couple of years ago however, the preamp was faulty and one of the fingerboard inlays say quite proud and at an odd angle. I paid my money and took my chance as I bought it sight unseen online (never recommended). Had it not been for the issues it would have been a good bass for the price. I didn't get bent out of shape about it as I probably just got unlucky and moved it on fairly quickly. Based in my experience I thought them a tad overrated given some of the hype that was doing the rounds.
  12. I owned an unmarked fretless version during the 80's... killer bass!
  13. Golden era of Ibanez basses. Wonderful... Congratulations!
  14. I have the trim set at about 30% on my Euro and it sounds really sweet!
  15. I enjoyed that ๐Ÿ˜Š
  16. Okay, I understand. Without wishing to be awkward, did the passive Wal Pro's not still include a single passive Wal pickup? My point was regarding Wal pickups and electronics.
  17. For me, as a former Wal owner, it is the pickups and electronics that make them special. Wal instruments ergonomic design and woodwork - although flawlessly executed to the highest standards - are not particularly ground-breaking or extraordinary. In fact, they are a bit marmite! Fabulous basses as they admittedly are, lose the pups and electronics and you completely lose the Wal mojo. I think a scaled back budget Wal would be a serious mistake. Just my tuppence worth.
  18. Just watched this and really enjoyed it. Thanks for the recommendation ๐Ÿ˜Š
  19. I don't doubt it however, it doesn't match my own experience.
  20. I've had a wooden neck on a very expensive handmade bass completely fail back in the 80's ... not cool. That led me to purchasing my first non-truss rod graphite necked bass. Tbh I won't buy any bass without at least graphite rod reinforcement nowadays.
  21. The way they leave the Mexican factory is very hit and miss in my experience. At least you're sorted and now up and running! No tension on the rod is to just invite a bow given that the neck is under string tension.
  22. It all depends on which factory we're talking about. Regarding Fender QC, there's nothing that would surprise me.
  23. Cracking bass and very interesting to see a pared back paintless view of the neck construction. That's also some wild flamed maple! Great project; please update the pics as you progress.
