  1. Totally agree. Stunning bass but ugly headstock.
  2. Ooh, one of the light ones then... thanks for that. Need to think this over
  3. What's the weight on this please?
  4. Oh dear, sorry to hear this. The curse of the skinny jazz bass strikes again! Lots of good advice here though.
  5. I'm wondering, for this price how good can a reissue Precision be?
  6. Jimmy Moon... no question. The best.
  7. Really glad it's on hold, I was contemplating the unthinkable...
  8. Is this beauty long scale? Looks fantastic... especially at this price!
  9. I totally get this: I was blown away by Jaco's chops when he broke through, and reverred his technical nous. 'Heavy Weather' is in my top 5 albums of all time however, for me, it was always Percy Jones. A total pioneer of explorative, expansive - sometimes left-field - fretless bass... and that right hand technique!!! In fairness, unsolicited, Jaco came upon Percy by chance and heard him playing in the flesh... he had the utmost respect for Percy and his approach.
  10. Is shipping completely out of the equation? ... tis a long drive from my neck of the woods!😥
  11. Absolutely stunning instrument ...and I'm another glad to see the return of GreenKing!
  12. Beautiful... almost the same as mine!! Killer, elite bass. Congrats.
  13. From one OW progress Deluxe owner to another, that is a stunner! If I had the readies available I'd snap this up. Amazing instruments... good luck with the sale.
  14. Beautiful woodwork, congratulations. These will be very nice instruments.
  15. Brilliant basses.. in objective terms arguably Leo's best design... but theres not a lot of cash rich people around right now. The markets not great.
  16. It's actually got nothing to do with being grumpy, old, or a git ... its a microcosmic reflection upon the rapidly declining standards of acceptible behaviour so evident today in our society. Bad manners, rudeness, selfishness and lack of courtesy are blatantly on show like never before (Trump / Westminster anyone?). It might currently be 'on trend' to act in that way however, it remains appalling nonetheless.
  17. In my opinion Fender basses are quite agricultural... in a good way. They are built in a simplistic, yet robust way. Remember, Fenders considered to be 'the best' ever made, are the oldest... often look like they've taken a real beating... but are still going strong! If this bass hasn't been obviously abused then I'm fairly confident that there wont be anything that a good set-up wont put right. The Highway One Fenders have a good reputation, and to the best of my knowledge sell in the UK for between £600 - £700 or so. Good luck.
  18. Beautiful ... but looks like it would be a bugger to play with that figuring
  19. Love that Ken Smith btw... sweet bass!
  20. John East is a genius and an absolute gent.
  21. Thank you Andy! Perhaps I should kick this project into the long grass ... a shame as this bass wont see too much action in my band😣
  22. Sincere apologies folks, I've lost a handle on what's being recommended as a solution here... (my fault not yours) Is the suggestion that the existing fingerboard remains fitted, with an additional fretted board fitted to it?
  23. Yes, pictures sent. Chris didn't speak in absolutes however, given that it's a neck-thru offered the aforementioned as his initial assessment. Personally, I'd trust him implicitly on whatever he decides given his reputation and experience.
