1. Ibanez SR basses meet all of the criteria. Lightweight, narrow neck and super playable. I had an SR605 that was a real featherweight - great player and the tone hit the mark.
2. For what it is worth, I think this is absolutely gorgeous. I have heard demo's of the electrics and have to say these basses excite me - they sound sublime. If i was in the market for a new bass I would snap this up. Good luck, god speed, and...... BUMP!
3. Funnily enough I was thinking about Chris when I spotted this thread. He was a giant of a player...."Close to the Edge" remains the benchmark prog bass tone for me. Gone but never forgotten.
4. Brilliant performance, a colourful set that was inclusive, empathic and engaging. It was the real highlight of the festival for me. Anyone here is as entitled to not like it as much as i am entitled to like it. Music is art...it is subjective. Go Coldplay!
5. Awesome festival, the 1975, Greg Porter and Coldplay are the highlights for me!
6. Great basses. I have historically owned two and absolutely loved everything about them.
7.
B.C.Rich Accept no substitute!
The dude makes a fair point!
8. Stingray all the way...it really is that simple.
9. Super nice Wal...you shouldn't have too many problems finding someone here to do a number on the replacement neck.
10. Gentlemen, thank you kindly. Much appreciated.
11. Hi folks, This may be a recklessly stupid question, but I need some advice - so apologies in advance. I love playing bass but as a card carrying technophobe have little interest in the technical aspect of gear. I am currently using a TC electronic BH250 amp (4 ohm) head but need to pair it up with a small lightweight cab. I really like the look of the Eden X112 (8 ohm) cab. Will I be able to pair the two despite the difference in ohm's, and what are the implications of doing so? Thanks in advance
12. Lovely bass, Ibanez are on point right now.

15. I have lusted after this bass before...and here we go again. Must behave, must behave, must behave...

17. I'm 90% certain that it's flat sawn Meranti, I've used a lot of this stuff.
18. Looks very much like Meranti
19. Having just bought some new TC electronic stuff from Guitar Guitar online I feel the need to give credit where it is due. I ordered the gear late on Saturday afternoon after trawling the net comparing prices - Guitar Guitar were the cheapest, beating Thomman hands down. Outstanding communications were followed up with VERY prompt delivery this am. Packaging was top notch too. Having suffered some appalling customer service lately I have to give Guitar Guitar a huge thumbs up. Very impressed and happy customer.

Copies
There seems to be a variety of inexplicably expensive knockoffs around at the moment - some even craven enough to be sold brand-new wearing shonky Fender logos - and I struggle to see how these are innately any different to the MIJ copies of the 70s & 80s. Apart from the complete absence of any historical interest value, making them seem even less authentic. Just goes to show I suppose how dismally unimaginitive and undemanding most bassists and manufacturers must be. Jon.
I totally agree, great post!
