1. Hmmmm, I think Entwistle and Sheehan might have something to say about the list!
2. Certainly sounds different - not as mellow as Rosewood, snappier than Maple. Love Ebony boards!
3. Stumbled across these guys.....best Rush tribute I have seen (plus a Geddy/Peart hybrid!) http://youtu.be/8UuucKOhR1Y
4. I owned one of these in red...it was absolutely rock solid. I love Yamaha attitude basses, they totally nailed the P bass thing.
5.
Hullo! I've still got 3 Pangborn basses - a graphite-necked Warlord, a Warrior and a Chieftain! The Warlord is a monster! All to be seen in a feature sometime nearer the coming summer! Cheers!
Cant wait to see the feature.
6. You are losing it...sounds just fine and dandy!
7. Looks promising. Interestingly enough Guitar Guitar currently have ESP basses on sale with BIG discounts!
8. One of the most gorgeous of all bass designs. I just cannot live with Thunderbird ergonomics at all - but fabulous design and sound.
9.
So does a "high mass bridge "...make a diffrence
Yes.
10. Moving Pictures...for me easily their best. Almost magical. Not a fan of the post Peart tragedy era I'm afraid...but still absolute legends and probably my all time favourite band.
11. What a fantastic find...amazing bass.
12. That is a super nice bass.
13. That is a beautiful bass...congrats.
14. These are incredible P basses.....I love them. I also agree with your point about the weight, the heavier Skylines seem to resonate beautifully and sound best. Good luck with the sale.
15. I have owned many Fenders over the years, some were better than others ...but in fairness none were remotely close to being absolute dogs. They were great gigging basses one and all. My two favourite P basses however were an old 80's Tokai "hard puncher" and a Lakland "Bob Glaub".
16. I empathise as I feel the exact same way. When gigging becomes a pain then its time to give it a rest!
17. I would imagine that the production costs of the raw material required for a large production line of F type basses would actually be extremely low (decent quality Alder/Ash/Rosewood). Therefore, imo these basses will stand or fall by the quality of their fit & finish, electronics package and hardware
18.
I know I'm not the target audience for this but, the world needs another entry level bass?
If these deliver on the early promise that they show, and I really hope they do, then this wont be just any old "another" entry level bass. They look great...however the proof will be in the pudding
19. Really glad to see the back of the 3 point bridge...worst piece of bass hardware of all time.
20. I wouldn't be too concerned about the pickup at all...simply buy a Sansamp bassdriver, Hartke bass attack or other tube emulator. That will easily dirty things up as much as you like.
21. These look great value...they are going to sell a lot of these bad boys!
22. I love Lado basses. Iremember meeting Steve Harris before a gig on the Powerslave tour and asking him about his. He replied "Oh yeah, thats my F##k knows bass....nobody knows F##k all about them!"
23. It looks fabulous...and knowing Ibanez it won't disappoint..
24. That is lovely...these are great basses and totally overlooked.
25. Flats on a Ray?....no, just ...no!
