1. I would guess that this bass sounds awesome.
 2. These are outstanding jazz basses. BUMP!
 3. Enjoy it...gigging is great!
 4.
I've played both and the Japanese one was better constructed than the USA one .
Me too.
 5.
Bump, nobody got an opinion on these?
I almost bought one a while ago, the most comfortable 35" scale 5 string bass that I have ever played.
 6.
Ha ha the bloke also had a Wal defretted identical to mine in a funky red Wal case in his cupboard, he wasn't selling that tho.
He has good taste! (like you )
 7.
Thanks it really is great. I saw it advertised locally and nipped up to see it and loved it.
Wish I had seen it first
 8. This is a gig that I truly I would have loved to have witnessed.
 9. Beautiful bass, that is a wonderful acquisition well done.
 10. Very cool!
 11.
Yes sadly this is true, thanks to so called austerity punishing the poor for being poor
We are all in it together...apparently.
 12.
Your eyes and ears are closed if you think that doesn't happen now, all over the uk.
I am sure it happens now to an extent in all areas of the UK...but many of the people living near me on benefits own Ipads and iphones. I wish I could afford one of those
 13.
Not really surprised as we seem to be breeding a society that expects and demands so much. The sense of fariness is out the window and it is a free-for-all where people will take what they want and if someone is stupid enough to let them take it, then more fool them. And they say we evolve..???
Sadly this often appears to be the case. I remember struggling as a child...we were dirt poor like all other working class people were, I wore "hand me downs" with patches on the knees and elbows of my clothes. We used to wake up during the winter with ice on the inside of our windows as we had no heating. This generation don't know hunger.
 14.
Omar Hakim-Drums Mino Cinélu – Percussion David Rhodes – Guitar Friðrik Karlsson – Guitar John Giblin – Bass Jon Carin – Keyboards Kevin McAlea – Keyboards Jacqui Dubois – Backing vocals Sandra Marvin – Backing vocals
Wow! Some real big hitters there.....
 15. Great basses...very underrated. Love the Foundation - nice one!
 16.
Great stuff, many thanks....Just wish I had the money a buy one.
Had one but moved it on....it just wasn't for me.
 17. Allow me; http://youtu.be/80dsyo2Ox-0
 18.
The bass gallery has a CT replica / Tribute if I recall.
I had that bass built for me....it is a good bass.
 19. I would say that this is a bargain....and won't be hanging around much longer. Not too heavy either.
 20. Drool....the perfect top wood! Gorgeous.
 21.
Has anyone ever upgraded their 'non Alembic bass' to Alembic electronics and if so did it make a huge difference? Thanks!
The compressed answer is...yes it would make a significant difference. I always much preferred the electronics package fitted to Wal basses than Alembic. Apparently Alan @ ACG utilises a electronic filter package system that is an improvement over both Alembic and Wal at a significantly cheaper price point. If you are serious about making this kind of upgrade it would be a folly not to at least touch bass with Alan (a member here "skelf") for advice.
 22. I emailed Jon recently and received a quick reply. This must be a good omen.
 23.
What is the difference between the SR500 and SR600? Are they available with maple board? Which of the SR series is most suited to reggae, using flatwound strings for a clear deep smooth tone?
The 500 has a Mahogany body, the 600 has Swamp Ash; otherwise they are identical. Neither come with a Maple board but both would be perfectly suited for Reggae as the pre-amp offers considerable bass boost/treble cut.
 24. I honestly don't think the body wood on these basses will make a bit of a difference. Six of one...half a dozen of another.
