  1. Stunning! Alan's instruments are second to none.
  2. I've got to admit I agree with Doctor J on this. I dislike all of the configurations you've shared and wouldn't do it, especially given it's a Zon.
  3. I've seen the exact same issues as Lobsters on a Mexican Geddy Lee before. Fender QC strikes again. Bizarre: These instruments are agricultural and straightforward to build after all.
  4. I once saw the exact same issues with a Mexican Geddy Lee. Head Scratching!
  5. Man, there's no worse heartache than true love which has slipped through ones fingers. Hope you get a lead on this...
  6. Gorgeous and so tempting but must resist.
  7. Bass aside, what was your Dad's story? Obviously had fine taste in basses ...
  8. Breathtaking... I would have this in a heartbeat had I been seeking another acquisition. Great price and top seller.
  9. That looks like a beautiful example. If you can make it happen I'd snap it up!
  10. This exemplifies what happens when art, money and ego collide. Ironic that the upshot is Janek ultimately ditches his high-end Fodera on the presupposition of acquiring a high-end Wal Really interesting post nonetheless, thanks for sharing!
  11. I've been waiting forever for one of these to pop up in one of our well known emporiums as I would need to trade-in. The wait goes on. Stunner!
  12. Monster player and a great guy!
  13. Really lovely basses, high end and built to last. Great score!
  14. Identical to mine...
  15. I'm genuinely surprised to hear this: Every Vigier I've ever owned had action so low it was practically underneath the frets!
  16. Have only ever owned two: loved the ergonomics and compact size - otherwise noticed no discernible advantages (tone etc).
  17. Gorgeous wood, can't believe it was covered in paint!
  18. Impeccable build quality and ergonomics. Lovely bass. I've bought an ACG from gardenerben before and he's a great seller!
  19. One of my favourite instruments from yesteryear. I loved it. If only they'd gone all in and copied the Steinberger strap system...
  20. Excellent...do love me a Vigier!!
  21. That's true. Cut a long story short I basically took a hiatus from playing over the 90's. When I returned I was staggered that Fenders - and Fender clones - were 'the thing' and more or less dominating music shops.
  22. I take your point however, also recall the 80's very well wherein Fenders were generally considered as 'naff' by a great many players.
  23. The bomb! Fantastic example.
