1. Where are you located flex? Quite happy to let you have a go and see what you think
2. Just checked the classifieds, if you are quick there is a orange terror bass for, and either a peavy or trace elliott 410 that would bring you in on or under budget.
3. Orange terror bass 500, would be a good bet. I have the 1000 watt version and love it. It's ultra light, but has a valve pre which can go from warm valve to full on growl. These units are LOUD for the size, but if you want ultra clean sound AND volume you might struggle, if you want it loud you have to use gain. You should be able to pick one up for about £350 which will leave you enough for you cab.
4. Hey guys, there must be a LOT of packaging in that shipping weight listed on amazon. I make it between 5 and 6 kg or 11 and 13.2 lbs. hope this helps
5. It's a Monday bump
6. According to amazon, the squier version of this has a shipping weight including packaging of 25lbs, which probably sounds about right, I would have said about the 9-10kg at a guess.... She is Definately no middleweight but surprisingly it doesn't really bother me too much, I mean it is a heavy bass, but I've used it solid for 3 hour rehearsal without any issues, I only use a standard fender strap too, if you invested in a quality leather strap you would be sweet.
7. I know, I love everything about this bass, it just oozes hot rod cool, only reason I'm selling is I have ridiculously small hands, and the neck and I just don't get on. Don't get me wrong, I can play it just fine, but my jazz just feels a little faster and more like home.
8. Wow, not even a sniff of interest.... Bump!
9. I know how you feel, there's no love for my Bass either and mines a fender 😳
10. Definately different to both a hash brown and a scone. Imagine a pancake about 6-8 inches across cut into triangles but made with potato and flour. Maybe a bit like a nan bread??? But only in appearance. I'm going to have to have a go at making it myself!
11.
Yes, I can't have a fry without potato bread and soda bread. A filled soda is a great thing too!
Why is it that what was once seen as "peasant Fayre" is always just the best? You guys are making me miss my grandads cooking! Back on topic, the OP should check out black sabbaths new track..... If he can't pick geezer out of that line up he really does need help. HUGE grinding tone that it sounds amazing!
12. Hey kiwi, I think as a whole this site is great. I must admit I was a little miffed at first when my classified add was not accepted due to not being financial. But then when I compared it with value for money against eBay, combined with the priceless info I get from the member of this forum on other topics, it seems justifiable. Although maybe as a sweetener you could offer financial members discounts on BC merchandise? I do like those polo shirts!
13. That sounds like a life's work milty, I think I'll join you! My grandad used to make the best, so we will stop off in Sydney!
14. I still can't believe you havnt sold this yet! It kills me every time I see it... Good luck and have a bump
15. Sweet looking wick, I can't imagine this will stick around too long! Just need to move my mike dirnt now!
16. The hat, I agree with you it can be hard to pick at times. Earty metallica like off kill em all is a good example check out seek and destroy, and the four horsemen.
17. Without bass there is no metal IMHO, I also don't subscribe to the just support the guitar school of metal bass. Personal I am constantly amazed at cliff Burtons style he locks in with the kick drum, supports the main guitar riff but also throws in mad runs.... Legend (ducking for cover from the cliff basher's now). But seriously, how good is potato bread!!!
18. Me too Steve! If any purists out there are put off by the fact this is a "signature" model, don't be shy, the only thing that's noticeable is the small star on the neck plate. Otherwise this could just be a tele p bass with a badass bridge. Trust me, this bass will make you sound as cool as you will look!
19. Being an Aussie Growing up in the 80's, the divinyls were part of the soundtrack to my childhood. Chrissy was blessed with an amazing and unique voice, truly a one off, and she wrote/performed some amazing songs and will be missed. I'm not too sure on the "classy lady" description, she was a dirty rock n roller to the core, I've heard a story or two that could make a sailor blush 😳RIP darlin.
20. Hi guys n gals, not sure if this is the right spot for this but here goes. I am building a practice space in my garage, which will consist of stud timber frame with sound deadening plasterboard. I was going to use rock wool in the cavity for additional sound insulation but that stuff is expensive 😳. Any thoughts on how effective it is for sound insulation, and any other more cost effective suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
21. The silence is deafening! No one interested in mike??? I would really like to move on with this, let me know guys!
22. Much the same as Frankenstein's monster was created from various body parts and became his own master, so too you can build your own sound. Don't dismiss what your heroes have done, study them closely and you may find that the thing you really like about them is one particular part of their playing style. Use this and morph it with all your favourite players and create your sound that way.
