Hey Guys n Gals, up for sale is my Fender Mike Dirnt P bass, this bass has an amazing sound with classic looks, how could you NOT want this bass? I am after £400 for this and would prefer a straight sale, but if you have something to trade just let me know. Come with 2 scratch plates, one black, one tortoiseshell http://s1283.photobu...68359c.jpg.html http://s1283.photobucket.com/user/damonjames79/media/photo-3_zps202336d1.jpg.html http://s1283.photobucket.com/user/damonjames79/media/photo_zps01159447.jpg.html http://s1283.photobucket.com/user/damonjames79/media/photo-4_zps12615ad8.jpg.html http://s1283.photobucket.com/user/damonjames79/media/photo-1_zps7d61ee8f.jpg.html As you can see from the pics, aside from some light scuffing from playing (i think with a pic, from the previous owners) it is in excellent condition. The scuffing isnt that noticeable, its just the photo was taken up close with the flash on, and in the interest of being honest about the sale I wanted to show it. I am located in Middlewich, Cheshire but if you are in the North West somewhere let me know, for the right price I might be able to deliver

I've played in several non metal bands over the years, though I am a thrash metal fan at heart! I always admired cliff burton as a teenager, and now I am trying to learn his work, I respect him even more! If I could find a thrash metal band nearby, I'd love to have a shot!

Bassists Like Tom Morello, anyone know one?
Damonjames replied to Basschatfield's topic in General Discussion
If that's the case, he should check out his fellow band mate Mr Tim Commerford, more often than bot he follows the same licks/riffs as Tom, and uses some great fuzz sounds among other effects -

A bassist like Tom Morello? 😧Wow I must be ignorant, I thought he was just the guitarist in rage against the machine! -
Great feedback guys, as some of you have said atleast I'm not left handed! (Well I am actually but I play right handed!) thanks mr bassbuss for the heads up about the bass lounge, might have to go check it out.

Incidentally, I've never had problem with Interparcel/UPS for sending basses. I used interparcel/tnt

Yeah not really that keen on freight.... The aforementioned bass I bought that I'm not massively keen on, I thought I had recently sold through the classified here, sent it and it disappeared for nearly 3 weeks before being returned to me minus all the cardboard/bubble wrap packaging. Naturally the sale fell through so am stuck with it now but I'm a little gun shy of shipping anything. I'm in Manchester fyi

Hey guys n gals, is anyone else bothered by the lack of window shopping ability for bass guitars? There seems to be a complete lack of support for mid to high end basses in this country, particularly in the north (unless I'm missing something as I am new to the country). I mean I would love to try a fernandes, a zon or a Warwick etc to see what they are like before buying, and after already buying a bass second hand without trying it first and not liking it, I am reluctant to try it again or order new online. If I can't play these instruments and hear how they sound, how do I find a "must have" that I pine for until I get? As I have since found out the "look" is only part of the picture!

Hey guys, I recently picked up a boss oc-2 pedal from here and have a question about settings. I saw Scott Devines video on pedals and used his settings which I think where left octave off right octave full and line off (can't remember which knob is octave one and two sorry). I really like the sound, but it seems very bassy and appears to drop in output level. Does anyone have any other suggestions to give it a little lift without having to play with the eq on the amp head? Cheers

Speeding up playing with heavy strings
Damonjames replied to richardjmorgan's topic in Theory and Technique
Try picking the string closer to the bridge than the neck. The strings will naturally move less down there, and as a result will be back where you want them to be to pluck them again. If you play with a pick this shouldn't be a problem although if you play with fingers you find it hard to find somewhere to rest your thumb unless you have a bridge pickup! -
Hey all, if anyone out there has a Nate Mendell signature bass, could you please do me a favour and measure the neck profile thickness? I know it is a "thin C" profile, when I played one a few weeks back it had a great feel to it so wouldn't mind getting my p bass thinned out to the same spec. Cheers for your help!

Can cheap pots make your bass sound cr@p?
Damonjames replied to Dom in Dorset's topic in Repairs and Technical
At the risk of sounding ignorant, if the value of vol pots makes no difference, why does a. Mexican fender jazz have 250k and a USA fender jazz have 500k? Surely the cost between the two is negligible. I thought it was part of making the USA fenders sound better and hence justify the price tag. I know mex pickups tend to be a little hotter than their us counterparts, but are still essentially the same design. I made some mods to my Mexican jazz including gotoh bridge, dimarzio j pickups and installing 500k pots, so its gard yo know which contributed more but it destroys the previous setup, it's sounds awesome! -

Hi all, has anyone out there used one of his kits? I am thinking about building a green russian muff and just wondering how authentic they sound?

Hi guys has anyone had volume issues with their terror bass 1000? I am running a matamp 6x10 and I seem to get loads of volume up to about 9 o'clock position (gain set to about the same and eq pretty much flat) but I don't seem to get much more volume than that? Does that sound about right? Any help would be appreciated!
