1. Bump. please buy my amp so I can buy your gear
2. I have had a thought now and think the best option other than a Markbass combo or Genz Benz combo (cost ouch) is to buy a separate Cab, something under 15Kg and a foot print of around 40x40 cm, any recommendations as to a single cab to be used for bedroom practice and small gigs with drummer (i.e. no guitars)
3. Really nice piece of wood and graphite there, what is the difference between this model and the Matrix is one thru neck?
4. I really want this but something is telling me to stop spending and start saving. argghhh
5. Bump now with pictures as you can see its the corners of the unit that have discoloured the unit itself is fine. Works like a dream. Would swap for other bass items such as good lightweight cabs/combos (with cash adjustment), or even Graphite necked basses (plus cash)
6.
How about this one mate: Gallien Krueger MB150S Is well over your £200 budget but you might find a second hand one cheap if you're lucky.
Had one it was alright but sold mine dead cheap, maybe the wrong thing to do now, I paid £500 for it OUCH Without sitting in a room trying them all out I don't think I will ever get the perfect mini combo, something keeps telling me just buy a single cab as I know I would get the sound I require but its just another item to carry. Someone told me to trade my LMK in for one of them F1 heads then you would think you always had a combo due to the size/weight of the F1 head.
7.
I think your tone requirements outsrip what is possible with a practice amp. I'd recommend either building or commissioning a BFM Omni 10.5 and hooking it up to your Markbass head. Personally, I love my Lowdown 110 and have even used it to gig a couple of times! (with PA support - a must).
I think this is my problem, just trying to emulate what I hear on stage as to what I hear in a small bedroon via a tiny combo, not sure if it will ever be achieved. Thinking now I would prefer a combo instead of the seperates more to lug about. Possibly might look for a 10/12" combo in the next price bracket from the budgets I tried. The Lowdown is a very good amp don't get me wrong its just not my sound, again I am not keen on the Roland Cube either which many people love.
8. Think this has been my biggest dilema, I bought a Lowdown 110 which I kinda thought its good for what it does but I want more natural sounding combo, so I trotted down to a local retailer and tried these various combos: Peavey microbass Ashdown After 8 Roland Cube 30 Roland Cube RX Orange Crush 35B I played around with all but come to the conclusion none sounded good enough, weirdly I found the smaller Ashdown the best but didn't have the volume. What I need is a small combo that has a natural sound and can be played against light drums. Should I either bite the bullet and buy a Markbass CMD121 or a single 10" cab and use my existing Markbass head, or anyone know of another combo that isn't over 15Kg and has great tone and is under £200 Thanks
9. Have been thinking recently of selling this amp, there is something that I just don't get on with digital amps so will look for something a little more traditional. The amp is good condition a few marks on the bottom. will get pics up shortly After £95 plus shipping probably £15
10. One of the nicest basses I have seen... Just don't tell me how much.
11. Oh my oh my, Just woke up this morning to find an email from the seller telling me I have not read his terms and conditions and has now sent me the full amount back into my Paypal account and due to the weak pound against the dollar I have ended up making £40. Result, Ebay/Paypal for once you haven't failed me. Thanks for the advice on here I now feel so relieved.
12. Have now filed a complaint via Paypal, its just not good enough 6 emails and no response, I hate complaining but its £600 and thats far too much to lose hope it goes ok, fingers crossed.
13.
Try entering the USPS tracking code into the Parcelforce tracker. If it's landed here then it should convert it into a UK tracking code and give you an idea of where it might be.
I tried this also but it tells me nothing, I feel very much in the dark....
14.
Have you threatened the seller with Ebay action at all?
I haven't as yet, his feedback is glowing with 100% after 900 odd transactions worldwide, typical, I will soon might have to threaten something as its a lot of money.
15. Just a quick update, checked the tracking code again and this came up: "The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on October 4, 2008 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later." Tried a couple more emails to seller and no response as yet. I can't help but feel a little concerend still.
16. My basses are cheaper than my car, am I the first? my 2 passions in life bass and cars, if I could own as many cars as basses I would.
17. thanks again for the advice, tried the number on the parcelforce website and nothing yet, will keep trying.
18. Thanks for the replies. The tracking number tells me "package number has left the sender on the 3rd October if you require more information please contact the sender, this tracking is now complete" This is very odd as my job is an import/export clerk and my DHL/Fedex/TNT accounts tell me exactly which stage the item is at. I just called USPS and they seem unhelpful and tell me to contact the original sender. I suppose I better wait a bit longer.
19. I may be a bit premature here but how long does a bass take to arrive from the States, I recently bought a bass off ebay in the US and this was sent to me on the 3rd October via USPS but from there on in I have not received anything and even the ebay seller has not responded to my 3 emails in the past 7 days. The tracking number states, this item has left the sender on the 3rd October. Starting to feel a bit worried as it wasn't cheap. What would you do if you were me, sit tight and wait or prompt ebay?
20. Wow £745 too much bass there for that, I knew I should have put an offer in before but thought it would never go as low as this, live and learn.
21. Anyone in the Hove area this looks a steal. 22.
Didja use a Behringer head too? if so, could've been the Behringer Ultra-Bass feature or something?
It was a Behringer head but no Ultra bass, I had one of these heads a while back as a back up to my then Ashdown ABM head it was ok, but that Ultrabass button leave well alone. (well for me anyway).
23. Had to have a practice last night without my trusty Schroeder 1212L looked at the cabs and thought nooo Behringer, reluctantly plugged my Yamaha Attitude in and cranked it up and played.... what the.... it sounded great, my experience with Behringer cabs have been awful but this stack of 2x10's was really thumping with this bass much deeper sounding than my Schroeder. I felt after practice that the Attitude bass is probably not suited to the Schroeder design as it is bass hungry, my jazz basses sing through the Schroeder with no problems but I love playing the Attitude now so does this mean a new cab to suit different basses, arrgghh will it never end.
24.
I just saw this 1 click from your link Wayne. > link Helluva lot of kit for the £££ Someone here should buy it!
near offer.... and also a practice amp, wish I got on with musicman basses as this is stupid money
25. Erm the tacky Jesus fish bass is coming across the pond to me. Well I like it, the spec is really good on paper and I was going to self build a graphite neck bass with most of the same parts so have saved me time and a bit of cash. Trouble is I am not playing it live with that fish on it so if any people have any ideas about how to remove/cover it that would be great, otherwise I may send it to Rob to see if he can either paint a block over it or remove all blocks. Its weird though as people seem to not like the bass, the parts to me are great and I like the colour but maybe I am in a very small minority. ash
