Are they microphonic or just crackly? If they're crackly then head down to your local Maplins and pick up a can of switch cleaner. Squirt a bit into the pots, turn them from end to end a few times and you'll be sorted. A

It's really just a large practice amp. It'll get you heard over acoustic instruments, but if there's a drummer involved you're going to struggle. That said, the older Peavey stuff always seems a lot louder than the wattage would suggest, so give it a shot. A

Overall it's in OK nick, the body's got quite a few little chips and dents in it, but the neck's fine. All it needs is a bloody good clean, some new strings and a setup and it'll be a nice little player - nothing fancy, just a good solid workhorse. But yeah, quite pleased with that. A Edit: The amp, on the other hand, is utter crap. Didn't really expect anything else though TBH -

20W ceramic resistors don't really weigh much at all. A short length of 4mm CSA cable (like you'd run from the input socket to the speaker) probably weighs a fair bit more, and likely moves around a fair bit too, but nobody bats an eyelid about the stresses on those solder joints do they? A

Yep, plywood case, lined out with foil to maintain RF screening. A lot of amp heads are built this way anyway. A

Should be fine. If you want to keep the resistor in clear air just hang it between the woofer and the tweeter - I've done that in the past too. A

I've used silicone adhesive to glue resistors directly to the back of piezo drivers in the past. I tend to use the type with aluminium cases like [url="http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/searchBrowseAction.html?method=getProduct&R=1073611"]this[/url] as they have good solid solder tags to connect the leads to. A

I'd be more worried about the grille frame covering 2 sides of the port and reducing it's cross section at the mouth. A

As the title says, I'm selling an Ashdown Five-Fifteen combo. It's one of the earlier models, so it's only 65 Watts (as opposed to the later 100 Watters) and covered with carpet rather than Tolex. Reasonably loud considering its limited power, but it won't hold up at a gig if you're in a loud rock band. Should be OK in a jazz setting, and I imagine it'd be a good amp to use with a DB/EUB, due to its deep and thumpy tone. Basically, if you treat it as a loud practise amp you won't go far wrong. It has basic 3-band EQ, Gain and Master Output controls, with a switchable Deep preset. Headphone socket and external speaker jacks complete the control panel. Anyway, a couple of pics [attachment=52738:PICT1071.JPG] [attachment=52739:PICT1073.JPG] As you can see, it's a pretty tidy amp in good nick. I'm after £50 ono, collected from Milton Keynes. I can deliver locally for gas money, but I don't want the hassle of shipping it. Thanks for looking. Andy -
