    Some years ago there was a guy selling a replica of a 2-band eq pre-Eb on Ebay US... For some reason I bought it but never got to try it.... (it´s still in the box) Got to take a pic of it post it here

    The only 3 band I can compare my Stingrays to is a 1996 20Th Annyversary-dreadful bass, sorry.... I couldn´t wait to sell the bass (that´s where my love/hate realtion with EB basses started!)

    In 20 years of playing professionally I´ve been sacked and also had to fire this or that member. Either way, and since its a really small world (at least here in Portugal) I´ve always tried to do the best thing when it came to fire someone, because you never know when you have to work with that person again in another musical situation. I also think it has to do with the way you´ve been educated-I´ve always been someone that likes to go straight to the point and to deal with any type of situation face to face, so firing anyone by text is definitelly out of my equation! Also, don´t let yourself think that you´re the problem-maybe the band was just full of themselves, so be glad you´re not part of a bunch of wannabees who have never had a gig anyway... You can do a lot better! And very important-you´re always a bass player! Don´t let yourself think the opposite-you don´t need to be in a band to be a musician-use that time off to prepare yourself for the next project that will eventually appear! Hold your head up!

[/quote] True, but when I mean "bad to worse" I´m refering to Portugal in particular-Fortunatelly theer are still countries whose economy is growing instead of falling (like most countries in Europe...)

    Thank you all for your comments! I ended up not buying the instrument because, as I thought (and you help me clarify my doubts) it wasn´t 100% original. And yes it is an instrument, but to me, considering the currene economical and political portuguese situation, every instrument I get needs to be seen as an investment, because I never know when will come the day that things go from bad to worse, and I need to recover the money I spent on a particular instrument.     Someone just offered me this Hofner in exchange for a old-school bmx I´m selling-not my type of bass, but the bass is in really good condition! My only doubt is the color! Is it original? I took the neck off and the neck pocket is also painted in gold...
