1. Get a Dremel and stay off the sauce the night before.
 2. £170? Buy a f***ing Squier VMJ mush.
 3. I would get one from Bernie Goodfellow - 'cos he's funny as f*** and swears a lot. And makes nice basses. And what Ferrett said.
 4.
Got it today, it's proper poo.
I tried to buy the Behringer Limiter from GAK a few compressors ago. They wouldn't let me.
 5.
I think I would go in to the shop to buy an Ampeg but walk out with a Mesa 400+
I oh so nearly bought a 400+ after demoing one loudly through a Powerhouse 2x15, but fortunately tried to lift it before handing the cash over. If I ever get successful enough to have a roadie, I'll get one straight away. Best amps I've ever tried. Larry Boothroyd can't be wrong.
 6. The Dunlop Dual-Design Straplok allows the use of a normal strap if the need arises and work very well with Grolsch rubbers. Try here...
 7.
Have a drink on me!
Ear, ear. <gets coat>
 8. I'm only aware of the chicks in the front row buffing themselves up to see who I choose for the after-show party. Or alternatively, the drummer speeding up, the singer forgetting the words and starting his guitar intros a fret out. On a good gig, I listen to me, the drummer and the wicked Angus Young wannabee solos the guitarist does, in that order. I tend to ignore the rhythm guitar, it's better like that.
 9.
I can't see cold-calling being a terribly fruitful affair...
Boom-boom!
 10.
Cool! Are they nice & bright?
Yeah, I liked them, nickels if I remember correctly.
 11. Any good? http://www.fender.co.uk/products//search.p...rtno=0738250006. I have used them through bridge [BadAss II], not through body. 4's only mind, I don't know if there's a 5 set...
 12. Like it mate - the logo, the site & me upcoming gig with the Big 'Un! You snowed in?
 13. Contrary to what I previously said about getting my first bass from me Mum's Kay's catalogue, I now remember it was a no-name P-copy from Bee's music in Arundel Arcade, Pompey. Why? Geezer, 'Arry, Burton, Lynott, Alan Davey off Hawkwind, Dobby off Saxon, etc. And, of course, my mate had just got a guitar and he knew a drummer who flogged a bit of puff. The mighty 'Lunchhead' were then born, with their [s]hit single - 'My Little Girl', written about Cheryl, the bird Smutley [guitarist] was knobbing at the time.
 14.
well, a compressor would be nice, and more than just a 3 band EQ, a 7 band graphic would be nice. That hartke just doesn't appeal to me that much...
Fair play. I have a growly bass with nice inherent tone, an excellent pedal compressor and a fuzz box for the fuzzy bits. I could never stop fiddling with the Peavey or ABM pre's I had and I always ended up tweaking this & tweaking that, looking for something else and trying some magic new combination of knobs & sliders which I was never satisfied with. I'm much happier with just bass, middle & treble to choose from. From the LH-500 thread, it seems everyone is using the same settings of 7, 5 & 2! I'm not even using the MicroBass anymore, waste of money that was. Horses for courses.
Hmm yeah i do see your point, though i think 1000W is a bit excessive, i used 180W on stage with no problems at all, i can't see how you could use 1000W of power without being a pro on a HUGE stage. Plus i'd be scared of blowing my speakers!
I thought about the 500w version [and a bunch of other amps too], but I just wanted to keep it simple & 'future-proof' myself. You can never have too much headroom either. Good luck in your quest.
 15.
it doesn't seem amazingly versatile, and compared to some other stuff in the price range (aside from the masses of power), it doesn't really impress me, whereas i could get a GK 700RBII for £400 from soundslive and that would be able to do so much more. Convince me
Less is more.
 16. Hartke LH all the way. The 1000 sounds nice through an SWR Triad, a Demetriades custom 1x15, and Carslboro 1x15 & a Hartke 4x10. Of course Hartke say it's designed for the HyDrive cabs - they are their new ones! EDIT: And none of that new-fangled graphic eq malarkey to twiddle constantly / f*** up your sound.
 17.
I just got quoted £170 from someone...
Laugh at them.
 18.
watching motd?
f*** off.
 19. Not a fan, me.

 21. Luvverly, Everyone should have one.
 22. 1. - Trucker 65w 1x15 combo - blew speaker 2. - Marshall 100 valve head & 4x12 - flogged for ? 3. - Peavey MK IV head & Sunn 2x15 - flogged for food & lodgings 4. - Peavey Combo 300 - flogged for £50 5. - Ashdown ABM EVOII 500w 2x10 combo & 210cab - flogged for £500 6. - Hartke LH-1000 & new cab soon...
 23. I had 84's in me Ged and loved them. I undoubtably would have bought the Hammers if they were out at the time though. Ring Andy @ Wiazrd and have a chat - he'll tell you what's what...
