4.
...tapered posts.
Evil things. It's the bloody great hole under the peg in the Bass Day ad that winds me up. I thank you.
 5.
I bet we all have that daydream. I well remember seeing Fleetwood Mac t'other year and secretly hoping someone would announce 'McVie's fallen off the wagon and is too pissed to find the stage - is there a bass player in the house'.
I've still not heard from Metallica about the demo tape I sent them when Cliff karked it. Rude bastards. I even had a bass like his. National Health - cracking band I'd forgotten all about, cheers Bilbo.
 6. For sale: Aphex 1402 Bass Xciter in pretty good nick, just some enamel taken off by Velcro on the back. Bought from our very own dannybouy some 6 months ago, but sadly has fallen out of vogue with the arrival of the KSD with an EBS pre. Lovely bit of kit though. I've downloaded a user manual and will find a nice tidy box to send it on it's way. £50 posted. Details here. Reviews here. Cheers, John
 7. Due to incoming EBS MicroBass II for a change and a headphone amp, I have a mint SansAmp Para Driver DI up for sale. Boxed, manualled, no issues. No BDDI presence control, but semi-parametric mid in it's place. Lovely bit of kit. Details here, reviews here. Cheers, John.
 8.
Jesus. Glad you're still with us and generally OK. My RCD is going to come out of the case and be used tomorrow rather than come along and be forgotten.
+1. I'm going into the cupboard under the stairs to find it. If I'm not back by Sunday, please call for help.
 9.
I'll send him a PM
He never replies. Tosser.
 10.
Is "Do you wish to view images in posts, such as smilies and posted images?" turned on in the "Board Settings" area of your control panel? http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?act=UserCP&CODE=04
Yep, I only have a problem viewing these, which is just about right considering I want to buy it. I'm sure I remember something about blocked sites but it all eludes me. Thanks though! John.
 11. Why can't I see these images? I go straight to the freeimagehosting homepage. I know this has been answered before, but I canne find it man. Ta, John.
 12. Razzle. Check bushes behind bus stops for free copies.
 13.
Guess the PM was rediculous!
Farcical mate.
 14. Trucker 65w 1x15 combo. Lasted 1 rehearsal, well most of it. Replaced by a Marshall stack that got us thrown out of the [s]village hall[/s] rehearsal studio
 15.
Hey Johnnysharpeyes, notice anything about my stringing on http://gbguitars.co.uk/ homepage?
Wild guess before I go blind on my lo-res monitor - B-string through body, rest through bridge? Your rationale Sir?
 16. And he's mixing brands , the one under the string tree has a wrap. Heresy.
 17. See you there...

 20.
Cheers for advice guys, I'm looking at a few options as we speak...may not commit to buying until I am slightly more financially secure though ...but what might happen is that I'll get pissed one night and come in and buy a f***ing Sei or Sadowsky Jazz on the credit card (cue instant decapitation from the girlfriend…)
Move back down Pompey, get a GB from Bad Bernie 60 miles up the road, lie. Plausible deniability mate. I'll look after it for ye n'all.
 21. Failed keyboards, guitar & vocals It was [& still is] - Cliff Burton, Steve Harris, Geezer Butler, John McCoy, Geddy Lee, Chris Squire, Rob McKillop, Cliff Williams, Jimmy Bain, Bob Daisley, Roger Glover, Glenn Hughes, Neil Murray, Phil Lynott, Klaus Flouride, Peter Baltes, Cronos the rabid captor of bestail malevolence. Now it's Les Claypool, Larry Boothroyd, Rob Wright, Trevor Dunn, Brian Fox, Matt Freeman, Dave Ellefson and that bloke off Helloween. And [s]most[/s] all of you bastards for playing far better than me at the SEBB. w***ers.
 22. Ridiculous PM sent.
 23. The Geddy Lee neck is fab and I used one exclusively for a few years, but after playing a 'Ray for a while I found it just a shade too small for my hams to readjust to, hence its recent sale. I was tweaking mine whenever necessary and never had a problem with any banana japes. It took a year or two to settle down though. The only thing I will say against it is that it wasn't too keen on a set of D'Addario 50-110's I once put on it - I just couldn't get it straight enough. In my experience the early 70's [block inlay] necks are the slimmest...
 24.
The first gig I went to was Gillan at the Glasgow Apollo. The bassist was John McCoy. I remember looking up at this guy on stage; he looked about ten feet tall and ten feet wide (he's still a big bloke!). And the sound of his bass was utterly thunderous.
I f***ing love John McCoy and Gillan were the best thing ever. Every month or so, I email Ian Gillan via his Caramba website and beg for a Gillan reunion. He's never replied in 2 years. Bastard. More John McCoy
