In the meantime, try to use the room acoustics in your favour by taking advantage of wall or corner reinforcement wherever possible. Alex
+1. Eg - I have a 2x10 combo that doesn't quite cut it live - the volume is there, but no "fullness" - now there's a word. When I add another 2x10, it fills the room, even at the same perceived volume level. Oh, and it's an ABM! And indeed - chuck it in the corner! John.

  5. 1 - Flogging the 100w Marshall Super bass stack I had in the 80's. For a Peavey / Sunn rig. 2 - Not buying the Carl Thompson with the Wal electrics for £2k on the 'bay a few months ago. Anyone got it? Wanna sell?

    Hi all
Unfortunately this site has nearly made me reach for my wallet a few times and now my Girlfriend has hidden it..they just don't understand do they...
'ello mush. Wish my missus had hidden my wallet & I'm only dabbling in effects. Until the new boilers paid for...
  12.
By 'crap', I'm assuming you mean the sort of basses that we started out on way back when. I remember my first bass back in '79. I sooooo wanted to be Steve Harris but couldn't afford the £350 required to purchase a 'proper' Fender so I ended up buying a no-name sunburst Precision Copy for £79 which made all the right noises.
Ditto I remember the maple fingerboard stuck on a maple neck. No one-piece shenanigans there! It was utterly crap. And in no way best.
  13.
So what do you all think - how many bands so you play with, and is one more a bridge too far?
Can you get away with playing every night? If so, do so!
  14. Out - Busted boiler and snapped front suspension springs In - New boiler & new front suspension springs Then... Out - LMB-3 Limiter & Programmable BDDI In - MultiComp & ParaDriver DI

  20.
...everybody has to do their bit in order for the whole gig to run as smoothly as possible, it's so annoying when some bands turn up late because they "need" to have their own backline
And Mummy is late home with the car
  21.
Don't know if it's bass 'porn' as such. More like a bird in the Star with her kit still on but unbuttoned in the right places.
22. Aye, and everyone's backs are kaput too! Ha ha, I might try a "no win - no fee" claim on Peavey!
