The downside is that I recently used the body to create a couple of miniature reproduction models which caused a bit of damage. The two spring loaded control knobs no longer repspond as they're supposed to - they've become really sensitive, such that now when you twist them all you hear is a high-pitched squeal instead of a pleasant sound. Also the jack socket got mashed up, the fit isn't so tight now. It still works but is a bit temperamental - sometimes I have to hold the cable in my hand instead.
+1. You are a genius. I now find myself using the auxilliary XLR socket more, though I also find this a bit temperamental unless the headstock has been thoroughly soaked in gin.
I am using the speakon connections. Machines - the guy on eBay said he couldn't refund me but said I could swap it for another Superfly or a different similar priced head...which are all Ashdown's!
How about an ABM head? IMHO they ain't at all bad. EDIT Jolly good in fact.

My own songs properly every time would be handy. Thank the Lord for muscle memory.
I only use one preset on my programmable BDDI now, but still I'm dreaming about 3 extra banks to not use. I am a weak man.
Me too though I don't use any now, I can get a very similar sound out of me ABM. So why do still want the EBS? HELP!
try humming an elusive pitch outloud and then sliding up to it on your fretboard.
+1. Don't listen to the voices in your head however - it's got me into all sorts of bother over the years.
At this point no one knows anything, but there are a few things going on to help the cause. saveplanetrock.co.uk: The base of the campaign. Planet Rock Forum: The Planet Rock forum with a number of topics about goings on. Government Petition: Well that's it, or will by on March 28th unless something good happens. Let's hope it's not the end of the world. Or should that be Planet?
How will I hear Hocus Pocus by Focus everyday? Everyone signed up? There's a crate or 3 of lager on me to tuck into at the next South Coast bass bash for all signatories! It's the Green Manalishi with the 2 Pronged Crown. Or is it Cross-Eyed Mary?
+1 for Rhythm Stick I think it's an amazing bass line. I can play the first 2 bars and thats it. I also like doing slap, although not to well. I'd like to learn Tommy the Cat or The Awakenings by Les Claypool.
+1 for all the above, and this I lose it half way!
3. I think you should be finding the posts in the wall and screwing into that. Screw + wood is a lot more secure than screw + stupid plug thing + plasterboard.
Absolutely. Use yer noggins or studs. And glare at your work colleague from time to time to keep him on his toes.
Isn't PAT testing where you nick a kettle lead from work with a sticker on it?
Or get some bisciuts for the lads in electronics and swap for a strip of labels
-
They'll PAT test it, put a nice sticker on it and enable you to say "just serviced" in the eBay ad, thereby filling the buyer with confidence that he's not buying anything like that backbreaking, stupid-handled, flappy speakered Peavey combo (£50 - buyer collects, no postage, no returns) I had "just serviced" by a twat in Brighton, that now needs a hefty kick when turned on to get it working. Never let me down once it starts working though, I should thank him for that. I might put a free ticket to the next gig through his door. With a brick wrapped round it.

Something different with pick-up positioning!

THREADJACK ALERT - my missus thought white noise is so called because it comes from white goods such as the washing machine & tumble dryer - no word of a lie. Back to the thread though - how about "infinitely variable between 2 points"? And it looks a bit pants. -
I love the postie, but I wish he would keep my parcels at his house (4 doors away), text me & I'd pick them up when the wife was out. I do give him a few tinnies every Xmas after all. What a brilliant idea, I may just suggest this to him and hey presto - wife unaware of latest GAS toy
-
Stage left now I've worked out that watching the drummers bass pedal is a jolly good idea. As is standing ever so slightly behind him so I can pull faces and gesticulate at him with no fear of a drum stick to the back of the head. He's half blind from all the White Lightning so there's no need to make eye contact.

Lucky sod, he's not married is he? And I'd wager that if he had a canine companion, it would be be of a colour one or two shades darker than mine too! Do you think he'd lend me his Orange stack for the weekend?

Tech21 are GAS specialists and this, even a mid control! EDIT: er, MID, just like the EBS. I want one of those now. One of these anyone? I hate this forum. :brow:

Nice one phat, but I was hoping it would be crap so I wouldn't have to buy one and go through this all over again... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=14656&hl= Trying to get things delivered when she's not at home is becoming very problematic!
I prefer 10s, their punchier and if your amp's set up properly then there isn't too much of a loss of bass either. I used to have a Peavey combo with a 15" and didn't really like it, it was a bit too farty and with not much definition. This could've been because it was a bit cheap and my Ashdown rig isn't
+1 15" Pervy combo - loud & muddy, ABM 2x10" combo +/- 2x10" extension cab - loud and clear but still a good low end. But ask 10 bassists and you'll get 30 answers. An hour in the demo room of your local store is the best way - you don't have to buy anything...

Love the P Bass Sound - Hate the neck width
I have a MIA Deluxe, would that do?
A series / parallel switch should fit in any Jazz, here's a couple of S-1 type threads about it... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...s+parallel+jazz http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...s+parallel+jazz -
http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/stagg-abs2-rb/8561 - Fits a Jazz nicely, but the strap will need to come off if you use straplocks. Not dirt cheap, but takes a fair twatting without complaining on those rare occasions the drummer deigns to carry something other than his rucksack full of White Lightning. Doubles nicely as a brace between the bass drum and the sofa at rehearsals too.
I 'm not a massive fan of big chuknky necks either.. but I'd got it into my head that they sounded better/fatter/fuller... Though I can not quanitfy that with any fact I'm afraid
Me neither, but there might be summat in it. I'd recommend a Jazz with a series / parallel (S-1) switch and a bifton set of Wizard 84's. But I have to say that 'cos I spent the first 2 months council tax, er I mean my hard earned cash on the upgrades. Nice GB, Ferret -
That 64 Jazz!
Yup, that '64's the one.

That Carl Thomspon with the Wal electrics that was on evilBay a little while ago that I wish I'd sold several of my less vital organs for. Anyone on here got it? Wanna sell it? Chuck some pics up for us mush!

32" scale? Cheat! EDIT: This from the man with a very thin neck - I take it back.

£1 cheaper than a J-Lo Hyperdrive. Oh no, what am I to do?
