Crap Venue Notice

I wouldn't have even bothered cancelling the September gig, wouldn't bother turning up on the date. Most promoters/venues can't be trusted to deal with any promo stuff that has been sent in.
3. It's all very confusing.....modes and ohms and bridges.....I'd shove it all through a 1000 watt cab!
4.
well that's exactly what i'm going for. my current set-up just isnt cutting it.
Tidy darts!
5. If you go for Hartke.....be careful, they're very loud.
6.
I Know Ed very well, top bloke, great bass player
Aye, bit good or what!
7. Nice one Rob, I'd love a Yamaha BB, great collection!
8.
thanks, the start of Time was my old Fender precision plus, with the EMG select P soloed. I was going for something like the intro to "machine messiah" by Yes. re. the double-jazz pickup, I'd like a higher output than the Kent Armstrong offers, to match the EMG select P. I'd recommend getting a cheap replacement J body and routing that to check out what the double-J sounds like, rather than butchering your fave bass and possibly regretting it later.
I'd be too nervous to do the job myself, seriously thinking about it though...getting shot of the neck pick up aswell.
9. Just got my order from OBBM www.bassic-bits.co.uk Transaction made Tuesday....delivered Thursday AM...brilliant service and just by looking at the product you can tell it's very good quality. Very pleased!
10.
It's getting really 'Grumpy Old bass-playing Men' around here, regardless of everyone's age.. Love it !
Yeahhhh, love it!
11. Bass and mid...great, the one I hardly use is treble, also the neck pick up of a jazz bass bugs me, same for the tone control. Instrument stands....I always step on them, Markbass keeper is the business. People who use fans on stage drive me insane.....sweating is best.
12.
Some players prefer to have a much more prominent sonic footprint, and unfortunatley the 4 string can only offer so much. Is it such a crime to want more than 4 strings?
Certainly not a crime Josh, ERB's are great...I can't cope with them personally
13. Cheers for the pics SJA......the bass looks and sounds really good! I've been toying with the idea of putting a humbucker in the bridge position on my jazz. I love the aggression on Time!
14. All this super low frequency.....it's for whales and things, why any bass player would want to bury themselves further into the lower register is beyond me.
15. Sounds really good! Cool sounding band too. Got any pics of your bass
16.
I thought this one looked quite nice: Only $45K as well. . .
Isn't that supposed to be Jaco's?
17.
People will always pay for stuff they think looks cool in whatever way appeals to them. Trust me - I work in marketing (actually if ever you hear the words "trust me" & "I work in marketing" together then the last thing you should do is trust the person that says them!). I can completely see a scenario, especially in the States where there are lots of smaller venues, where a small bar/club gigging band would want a cheaper alternative to look like they've been around the block a few times with their instruments rather than shelling out on a genuine vintage guitar/bass. If the pickups are up to scratch, or decent aftermarket ones are fitted, then I reckon they would sound good & look quite impressive on stage.
You're right.....I'd have one for the look of it...and why not? Wouldn't pay a grand for it though. Some people like taking their instruments to Sims for a custom paint job or LED's...actually don't sims do a relic paint job too? It's all vanity at the end of the day.
18.
Interesting - I actually searched for both "road worn" & "roadworn" from the main search box in case this topic had been covered before and it didn't give me any results?
Try reinventing the wheel.
19. No hard case.....that's just not playing the game! I'd have one though
20.
Looking for a Yamaha BB2004. Must be in good condition. Regards Kalim
You'll be needing Items Wanted....a few doors down
21. 10 days use....practice everyday, then they start to go dead..... that's about right I'd say. How can it be your bass if they're fine for 10 days.....hmm weird. I've had dead E strings straight from the packet in the past but to go from brand new to dead Is your bass made of some super rare dense swamp ash?
22. Just heard about this...myspace bulletin: Jeff Berlin on Talkbass on Jan. 10 at 11 am EST
23. Just got back from a gig, a few players in the crowd passed positive comment on the sound of my LH500, I was quite pleased because I've stopped using my Zoom pedal since getting the amp
24. Do you smoke, sweaty hands? Leave your bass out of it's case for days? As mentioned, depends what tone you like using, Bright=change regularly Dead, bass, boomy=change not so regular
