2.
+1 I've just been listening to John Coltrane, 'A Love Supreme' bloody marvelous
A true Heavy Weight of Jazz, I love Coltrane's endless search for something sonically challenging, whenever I've tried to attempt any form of jamming or working certain things out it can be quite overwhelming. I love his work towards the end of his life...unreal.
 3.
Lol, any dude who refuses to play the 21st fret is limiting himself
I only have 20 anyway
 4.
Indeed nice, but you can save a bundle more importing it new, yourself.
True, I'm waiting for one from Ishibashi, very good price indeed but The basses on the Far East site always look in great condition, can't knock the guy for making a living.
 5.
That man was in the dark,I am the light. If the fret is there, its there to be used....And I get paid.
May the force be with you.
 6. Looks pretty good to me : ebay relic
 7. I love a bit of relicing, genuine or not.
 8. I just found out she's been playing bass for 4 years and she was also a guitar player before that. So if you're a bit like me...only just heard of Tal: http://talwilkenfeld.com/Tal.html http://www.bassplayer.com/article/tal-wilk...ld/Aug-07/30550
 9.
Is she a Berkleeite? where was she found?
No Idea, I've only had a listen to the two tracks on her myspace page so far.
 10.
You take life very seriously. That's not a bad thing, but it must be very hard work.
Nah, I get your sense of humour BBC, I'm not offended by it, call me a geek or whatever but I'd rather talk with you about Tal's playing than discuss what you'd like to do with her but if that's your trip, what can I do about it? Nowt!
 11. OK, OK, BBC if that's your idea of a compliment so be it, I'm not here to tell you how to think or act just find it all a little predictable and shallow.
 12. Yeah it was obvious guys, but there's a difference.....the bass is a piece of wood and Jeff's bass player is a person.
 13.
Thanks Dad. I take it your about to make an equally moronic comment regarding respecting women and innuendos on this thread? http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=10793&st=20 After all, fair's fair.
What point are you trying to get across with the link BBC?
 14.
I agree. You'll not find a bigger one.
You just have the unusual talent of revolving the thread around yourself, by the way I don't think you're a tosser, but most of us here get turned on by bass
 15.
Well I thought I'd worked it out, then I watched the Jeff Beck clip again on Youtube and she seems to be getting a fretless type sound from her Sadowsky fretted. Me-sa confused. In the last hour I must've listen to the second track on her myspace page at least 8 times. Nothing overly fancy, just fantastic, tasteful playing. Hats off to her.
Must be all in the hands, cool player!
 16.
Don't worry, I think I've figured it out for myself
I was thinking the same thing there Rumble, she's got a great sound.
 17.
Do you guys actually play bass?
I was going to ask you the same question
 18. Wow! your selling your basses to help your band out You're gonna be a hero! Don't see many Bravewoods around.
 19. £265, that's a lot of cash for the whole weekend! Just wondering how much someone could actually learn in a short space of time. I suppose you could take a mini disc recorder or something to go back over the course. Horses for courses
 20. Thanks for the feedback Mike, I'll get there one day Also enjoyed the Monk tune and Haze!
 21.
Catch up man! Only jokin'! She's been causing a stir for a while now! Awesome player.
She seems to be stirring something up judging by a few of the comments on her page.
 22.
I'm a neck man, or both full up. Never just bridge. Or I actually use the S1 switching. That makes me throb downstairs.
I don't get the S1 switch never use mine at all, isn't it supposed to be like a P bass sound?
 23. Good couple of tracks on here: http://www.myspace.com/talwilkenfeld
 24. It does seem to take a little time to get things sorted, I paid for mine late Sunday evening, ( mistake in my last post, I said Tuesday) I had the reply Monday saying that the tracking number will be sent, so I should get an email Wednesday maybe Thursday??? but no complaints what so ever, they've been very helpful but as BigRedX says it's the time difference that's a bit freaky
