It's inside warranty - ask for a brand new replacement. Any dealer with a shred of decency will swap it straight out, give you a new one and sort the warranty claim with the distributor / manufacturer. This shouldn't be your issue to sort. The person I spoke to last week who had a similar problem with a Shuttle 9.0 did exactly this. The dealer simply got out of the loop in this case and got the distributor to supply a new amp. The same thing happened recently with a bass I saw. Dealer tried to get it fixed and it came back exactly the same. The owner went past the dealer direct to the distributor and they sent him a brand new bass

I've heard lots of stories about GB 900 heads having problems after they've been used for a while. Last one I heard the owner had to have the head replaced three times before he got one that worked OK at gigging volumes

Standard cost from USA is 23%'on value of purchase plus shipping. There's also a handling charge. Safe bet is to allow 25% to cover everything. No duties on any imports from within EU (but be careful about exactly which countries are full EU members). On current Euro exchange rates you may well find a UK dealer will be cheaper than Peoplemlike Thomann and Musik Produktiv. The UK dealer prices may be higher but some will negotiate a little on prices. The last 3-4 thi GS I checked vs Thomann actually showed UK dealers with lower list prices

I've had the misfortune of having to use Ashdown heads a few times. The first time was a gig when all three bands on the bill had to use the house rig. It was an EVO 500 head with a 4x10. The first band finished and the bass man came over and told me he thought the head had blown something and that he couldn't get even a half decent sound from it. I was next one and tried playing with all sorts of eq settings and pretty much the best sound I got was a low rumbling thud. Then the headline band came one and the sound was, amazingly, even worse! I genuinely thought that maybe it was just a duff head or cab but then I tried a rehearsal studio rig that was entirely bereft of any definition and wooly was definitely the best things got. And then recently I was in another rehearsal room with another EVO 500 and 4x10 and it sounded just like the other two. Luckily I had a little Sadowsky pre-amp with me and bypassed the onboard eq. It was definitely better but the cab still sounded like it had a blanket draped over it. My band said it was the worst they'd ever heard a bass sound. Maybe I've just been really unlucky and had nasty house rigs that have been thrashed to within an inch of their lives but it's not a problem I've had with any other brand I'll have to try and find a brand new one to test my theory

Have you tried the Carvin flats? Made by La Bella but cheaper than La Bella branded ones and in very basic packaging. I hear a friendly UK retailer is about to offer a really good discount on them for all Basschatters (PM me for details).

The store I help out at, BassGear, sells Mono cases and both the Vertigo and M80 are excellent. I bought an M80 because I wanted the extra storage for cables, pedals etc. However the Vertigo is a bit slimmer and less bulky, whilst working just as well as a god protective case

The latest CS basses are seriously nice instruments. Definitely a higher grade of fit and finish than regular US made Fenders. However, they are all individual basses so I'd always recommend trying before buying

My '67 is currently residing at BassGear in Twyford if that's anywhere near you? You'd be welcome to try it there

I saw Gary Grainger playing his private stock one at Musikmesse and it sounded really nice. He was playing in a bass trio with sax and drums and his playing was excellent. PS - I can imagine Dave liking the neck 'woofer' pickup on the bass in the pic. Would suit some of the tonal options he's after quite well I think.

I've tried a few octavers and found the Aggie to be the only one I'd be happy gigging with. Definitely seemed to track better than others I've tried on lower notes. It's certainly a lot to do with technique on some pedals of course. I've seen people playing things on an OC2 that I've never managed with mine
Nope - but you can stomp on an equally good sounding synth pedal that's damn sight cheaper than £700!?
Also Nope. . .
I'm sorry, but it is a £80 synth pedal, not a £700 pedal ! You can buy a synthesiser for that!
But can you put a synth on your pedal board and just kick in that one killer sound at your next gig?
In the UK & with shipping, duties & taxes paid for you're looking at about £10,150. . .
Just realised that this is quite an old one. I've not seen a Deluxe without the flick switches and more advanced pre-amp before. I think that means it's at least pre '09 when the price really rose. Earlier ones would have been around £6,500 in the UK. Apologies if I've mislead anyone by using current new values -
And how old / used is this 700 quid stomp box? I couldn't believe that price and was even more surprised when it sold. There must be some dudes who really, really like Muse. Even my most expensive bass guitar wasn't 700 quid.
I'm not sure age and usage are the key factors here. It's a scarce and desirable commodity so its price has risen. Too expensive for me but I'd love one - and I absolutely detest Muse

Some vintage pedals are very highly demanded and the Deep Impact is one of the most desirable. Like everything else that's for sale these things will find their own value. If an item is scarce and someone wants the 'real thing' then there isn't a substitute. I really wanted an original Mutron and paid good money for one. To my ears it produces a sound no other filter type pedal can. However, the big pleasure for me is that I love the fact it's old, albeit only in the world of pedals, it looks really cool and it makes me smile every time I use it. To me that's worth every penny and I think, for some players, the Deep Impact fits into exactly the same bracket - lots of things can do synth sounds but none of them actually is an Akai. They aren't made any more = the price starts to rise. They are fetching big money even over in the States. Saw one on US EBay got for $850 not long ago.

Bass guitar worth.... (I saw a new bass in my local shop today)
molan replied to LukeFRC's topic in Bass Guitars
75's new are generally available for around £1,500 but the 74's seem to have opened up at £1,900. Have to assume they'll drop in a few months time. -
I've seen one sell for £700 and another for £600 - it's just supply and demand stuff
