PM's replied to and some possible offers kicking around Had some requests to see the pickup cover attached so I've added some more pics as well. These were taken with flash so they're showing it a bit 'whiter' than the natural colour.

NOW SOLD AND HEADING FOR FRANCE I bought this a while ago here on BC but it's not getting played enough so I thought I'd see if anyone might be interested in this really nice Spector NS4. However I can arrange to have the work done for an additional £150 which would take it up to a little less than I think it's worth in perfect condition (I'd estimate circa £1,600 for something with this beautiful top). It is actually sitting at the Gallery in Camden right now if anyone wanted to check it out there. I've copied one image here but there are more in the original post as per the link above. The top and inlays really are beautiful in the flesh (the inlays are one area where the US basses often really stand out from the Euro models). As usual I'm happy to ship anywhere in the world so long as payment is received for the bass & shipping in advance. Would also consider trades for anything that might be easy to sell such as US Fenders, Lakland Skylines or US Musicman basses Comes with genuine Spector hard case.

That is an amazing price on a US Spector - I've seen people list Euros for this sort of starting price!

Why is it that you always seem to have the most interesting basses Javier? I saw Reggie in LA last year & then spotted one of these in Guitar Center but already had basses coming home with me so didn't even try it out Supposed to have quite a chunky 'U' shaped neck for a J bass?

Nice looking bass Steve, I've never played a US Lakland but have heard nothing but good about them Is it Sherwood green or lighter - always difficult to tell with lots of green and blue colour variations?

I simply have too many active J basses and it's not getting played enough so thought I'd see if anyone out there is inteested. Basses from this era were made with the highest quality lightweight woods that Roger Sadowsky could source so he didn't have to resort to chambering bodies to reduce weight as he now does with so any of the new builds. Consequently it's a lovely light weight and really well balanced. My bathroom scales are showing it at about 8lbs with the centre pickup cover on (not shown in the pictures below). It has all original fittings, apart from a new set of Sadowsky strings, and everything is completely glitch free with no scratchy pots Given the age; it's prior to the VTC tone option (although I think this is fairly easy to retro-fit) but it does have active/passive switching. The body is in absolutely immaculate condition and I can't see a mark on it anywhere. The 'trans' white finish allows the natural woods to show through underneath and the clear plastic pick-guard means it doesn't have any slap/pop marks on the body. It looks quite cool to me with the guard on but obviously this could be removed if anyone wanted a totally clean body look. The maple neck is a joy to play, nicely worn in to a smooth semi-matt finish but without any wear marks that I can find. Some nice markings in the wood and on both front and back of headstock. Comes with its original Sadowsky hard/soft case. If you haven't used one of these then they are definitely worth looking out for, my favourite type of case - tough enough to offer really good protection but light enough to lug around for everyday gigging. Overall a really nice classy, but giggable, Sadowsky in a very nice wood/colour combination. Happy to ship anywhere at buyer's cost so long as funds are cleared in advance.

I remember a similar "welcome" when i joined.[/quote] Not trying to be 'difficult' or anything but I'm betting that you didn't say you had a bass worth anything between 5,000 & 20,000 (currency not specified), then say you'd offer a reasonable price, decide that price was £10,000 and then not post any pictures when people asked for them? I can't imagine anyone would think they could sell a bass for £10K without a lot of detail and high quality pictures etc.? This would seem especially relevant when there's a pair of Carl Thompson basses up for sale on TalkBass at the moment for £3,000 - £3,500. In order to be worth three times this amount it's got to be a very special CT indeed (and I'm not saying that it isn't - it's just tough to tell from the details given so far). Seems very reasonable to ask for this sort of information to me.
