2. If I remember rightly this is a 32" scale?
3. I can attest to the fact that this is in perfect condition & still comes with original box In fact - if Mark has programmed in some Flea settings then it's in even better than new condition!
4. Hi Signature bass isn't bad either :
5. I've played this, albeit not plugged in, and thought it was really nice
6. Don't think this has been posted yet: Here's a 'live' version from Soul Train which opens with the bass man playing the riff with a pick. Faster than the original but the suits & dancing are worth a look, lol:
7.
That stage could be helpful for a masterclass amongst other things Look forward to hearing from you on this one Molan T
Shall I just ask for availability for any Sunday in June?
8. The North London School has been closed for Easter but they are back tomorrow so I'll re-contact and make sure it's all Ok Did we have a confirmed date or still flexible in June somewhere - sorry, I lost track of the nominations The main hall there is a very good space by the way. Has a stage we could use if required There's one pub in reasonable walking distance - http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/79/...k/New_Southgate
9.
Soz... http://www.oxfordguitargallery.com/Specials/Default.aspx Click basses.
Their server seems to run at the speed of a slug! It took an age for the images to load - if I was a 'casual' browser I wouldn't have bothered waiting. I checked other sites and my connection here is fine so must be on their side
10.
Price is fair. Their RS210 went up by £80 now that's wrong, good job I got mine before the price rise.
It's very sneaky really - some retailers have been listing these as 'in stock' @ £370 for the past month but are now quoting £450. That's blatent profiteering as they've simply added £80 to the price of old stock that they'd purchased before the price rise! Some of them are even advertising at £370 but quote the new price if you contact them. . .
11. That's quite firm then. . .
12.
Thanks for all the advice - to be fair we do discuss each gig in detail afterwards. Think the idea to work on the first three is a good one - even though they have been picked as being tight.
The tip about rehearsing them as if you're at a gig is a really good one to remember. Set up at rehearsal as close as possible to gig positions (which usually means you'll be positioned on top of the dummer, lol) and even practice any sort of in between patter. Feels a bit 'silly' at first but this is really 'proper' rehearsing for live performance rather than just practicing songs you already know
13. I'm in the 'respect them both but find their music difficult to listen to' camp. If I had to vote then I'd go for Flea purely because I prefer RHCP's music. Level 42 leave me colder than cold but I can only take RHCP in relatively small doses as well. I do remember seeing some Flea / Chad Smith workout stuff that was really good though
14. Our 'trick' is to make sure our first three songs are the tightest & best rehearsed in the set. They are not neccesarily our strongest songs but they get off to a good start and we've rehearsed them to death so we just breeze through them (usually!). We actually rehearse them as 'trio' of songs with no break for random audience chat as well. Works really well for us
15.
Sure you don't need to edit that link?
I'm getting virtually zero volume from this? Jacked everything on full and can just about hear something
16.
On tour in the US! http://www.songkick.com/artists/415088-maz...frankie-beverly
Actually they were here just a week ago! 2 nights at the O2. I was supposed to go on the 10th but got a gig so had to pull out
17.
a couple LIVE, from the wonderful Boz Scaggs..this is so the sort of soul groove i like..so much space for bass..oh and it makes me want a P bass http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kn1sEssGMLk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yj4JCPXQjk8
Wow, only just listened to these B5. Boz Scaggs Live 2004 is now in the process of downloading to my iPod Here's some Jazzy Funk groove from Pleasure to keep the thread alive:
18. Ok - here's some attempts at my own pics. Hope these help
19.
That's very pretty! Any chance of some more pics? Is it standard Fender-type dimensions?
I'll have a go - it's difficult to capture the quality becuase of the flame I'd say dimensions are more like a Sadowsky Modern than a Fender. I'm afraid my one Fender is in for a 'service' so I can't directly compare. I think body size is generally smaller and a little more angular. Neck is very slim and has a lovely smooth satin finish.
20.
Bump and now on ebay !!
I can't see it - searched for Worldwide & available to UK.
21. Great price for one of these I had a 5 string for a while, very well made and the thru necks are lovely.
22.
A novel definition of the word "rare".
I did a quick search and spotted that six or seven Moon JJ's have been in for sale threads here on BC. Compared to Fender / Lakland / MusicMan etc I'd say that's 'relatively' rare whilst not fitting into the the 'super rare collectible' category I really like the look of Moons - especially when in the hands of Larry Graham
23. Would definitely be amped up Just spotted this: http://www.bassnw.com/Used%20Basses/ribbec...ectric_bass.htm Looks rather nice but $4,500 used. . Seen some nice Rick Turners which along the Godin kind of style which would probably suit me. Will look out for some Godins too
24. So I may have an 'unplugged' gig and my suggestion of just playing an electric 'quietly' didn't go down very well, lol. I'm fairly picky these days and could probably afford a good quality acoustic but I really have no idea what to look for! My ideal would be something that's actually as close as an electric to play really but still has a good 'woody' acoustic sound & vibe. Any suggestions people. . .
