Hi there lefties - here's a little news story I thought you might be interested in. Promise this is purely posted here because I know how badly served Lefty players are by so many manufacturers and there's a time-sensitivity to the news: Sadowsky are testing the waters with a very short production run of lefty instruments in either MV4 or RV4 spec. These two are the biggest selling models so I can see why they've chosen them. They are taking orders from dealers up until August 15th. Looks like any of the colour options are available as all instruments will be made to order - this even includes the new Charcoal Frost & Burgundy Mist which came out fairly recently. Having looked around it seems they were going to offer Lefty basses through the Tokyo Metro team a good few years ago but the run was cancelled due to lack of demand. I'd guess they are going to see how this short production run works and will then assess whether they can offer other models and/or 5 string variants. If anyone wants more info then PM me and I'll see what i can find out

Although I'd miss Chris Squire dreadfully, I could still see Yes operating with Anderson & Howe as a core. I know Steve Howe hasn't been an ever=present member but I always felt that these three were the core of the band and they could probably survive with any two of them. For me, it's a little like The Who. With half the band gone it isn't the same but it's still fairly identifiable as The Who (although I agree with the above comment that Pino doesn't really fit properly - and I'm a huge Pino fan!).

I've got 30-90's on my Streamline and really like them. They seem to kinda fit the whole 'ethos' of the bass, lol

UK prices on these are crazy. Last time I checked the dealer price in the UK was more than Thomann were selling them for - and by a significant amount as well, something like £30 more expensive to buy as a dealer!

We rehearse from time to time without a drummer. We use drum patterns from a keyboard and our singer is now a bit of a whiz at cutting the drums in places where there are stops and then bringing them back in on time - sometimes he even adds fills as well

That's way more, nearly £1,000, than the last one I bought!

[/quote] I'm a gigging Mike Lull player Dan - sure that means I'm not showing bias? I've owned five of them and that gives me a lot of direct experience as a gigging bass player. Some have been good, some haven't. The not so good ones have been a bit bland and lacking in character. The good one isn't. Even my Facebook profile picture and my band web page shows me playing the Lull, as did my previous FB profile pic! Edit - I should also say that Mark and I have discussed being 'competitors' in the past and we've always thought that we're in the business of selling instruments and amplification etc together, in a very small market, rather than being competitors. We've supported each other in the past and get on really well.
