  1. Leo got it..... Wrong?!
  2. I think it's worse than that. She put a video of this interview on twitter. Adam Clayton is on TV saying this stuff and she just goes "pr!ck." At the end. So the "journalist" has seen this few seconds long clip on twitter and written an article about it. Where's the slow handclap emoji?
  3. The Markbass amp wedge thingy solves this. I love a fifteen but need the sound pointing upwards or I can't hear any top end on the sound... Wedge to the rescue. This is what I want for rehearsals and small gigs. Big gigs will have two fifteens stacked and no wedge, but also full PA support.
  4. Or loads of screenshots of various random people on Twitter commenting or "reacting" to some nonsense that in context doesn't actually mean what the headline says. But hey, you clicked on it so the "journalist" did their job, right? My brother is a journalist for a newspaper. He was really miffed at the quality of his writing being measured by how many people click on his articles. Not whether they read it, like it, make a comment, share it, whether it's factually accurate, nope. Just how many clicks you get. I suggested he headline every article as "Kim Kardashian sends a message to Ronaldo, number 3 will shock you!"
  5. Look at the positive: I've now heard of Nadine, and I respect her view, her musicianship may well 5hit all over anything Mr Clayton does. But really, he didn't say "women shouldn't play bass" or "women can't play bass" did he? He linked bass playing with old masculine traits of strength etc which is a bit old fashioned but he didn't punch Tina Weymouth or Suzi Q or say any woman was a bad bassist. Storm in a tea cup and Nadine has capitalised on it.
  6. It's a nice looking bass. From my own experience any bass I've bought with more inclination to sell at a higher value than to play has always lost me money. Basses I've kept and played for years, never thinking I'd sell, but later moved on are the only ones where I've broken even or made profit.
  7. Probably worth looking up the seller and seeing if they have their own site, might be cheaper bypassing eBay.
  8. But not a problem between a Few Good Men.
  9. @stewblackdon't be disheartened. They will appreciate you once they realise the dep is just pumping the root notes or whatever and they finally understand. Happened to me with an old band. Dep played all the right notes at the right times but didn't drive the band on or throw in the fills and bits that make my approach mine, and therefore the band sounded very much less energetic.
  10. Love this analogy. A good goalie never forces themselves into the game either.... Just like a good bassist. Sometimes I listen to rehearsals and wince at myself playing fills a lot where they don't belong....
  11. I've been a doofus and assumed it was part of the Helix range. It's not. Guess it'd need to be the 8-£900 version of the Helix to give what I wanted, plus a wireless kit..... may as well stay as I am or go Stomp XL
  12. Very helpful thanks. I don't understand why they have limited this version compared to the Stomp, like no parallel processing and less blocks. It's making me go off the idea... Even though 99.9% of the time I wouldn't need the extra the Stomp gives I'm just thinking forward and about using presets designed by other people, I don't really want to be limited. But then again, it has stuff I would like right now like built in expression pedal and built in wireless. Interesting, one to ponder.
  13. I've got on better with my Helix Stomp than expected. In my current band it's really helping me add something. However, I need access to more buttons. I also seem to have a "one box" solution that has quickly become one box supported by four more and a power supply all mounted on a pedal board... So the Pod Go wireless appears to solve the issues I've got with having all these boxes and it has a wireless which I'd like. So a few questions for users... Are there any good bass wahs? I'm assuming I could take my presets with me when I ditch the Stomp and buy a Pod Go? Are there any drawbacks to the Pod Go? It just seems too good to be true!
  14. These are beasts. If I hadn't just bought two brand new I'd have it!
  15. I think if any of these people tried that excuse in front of Miles Davis back in his day they'd have had a trumpet inserted swiftly and painfully.
  16. Some people just don't know how to commit to a band.
  17. Do you want your name associated with it if it's going to be a mess?
  18. @chris_b you're the guy on keytar here, right? https://youtu.be/O3cBp_Bf43M
  19. I love how it's the hippy George who says "who's going to cough up for that?" And "careful with that 8 track it cost me ten grand!". Seems while he had some hippy ideals he still had an eye on those helping themselves to the Beatles' money.
  20. Possibly. Age and maturity are not always linked.
  21. Just like how doing massive strong bends and pulling a face doesn't make you a bluesman! Loads of muso types just see the opportunity of joining a covers band as their own chance to have their spotlight moment that they've dreamed of since their teens. It's not just guitarists to be fair, but it mostly is. They have no interest in learning a song properly, playing together as a unit and the whole band sounding good and getting repeat gigs. They just want to walk out of the dry ice, do their one trick and receive adulation. How many times does that happen at the dog n duck? What does he do for a living? Ask him if he does that "by feel" too. We used to do stuff like this to make a point to our old guitarist. But he wasn't an angry little thing. If the anger is all shouting and going red just keep winding him up until he gets it. If he's likely to swing a first or throw something I wouldn't even bother being in the same room as him ever again.
  22. Unless he admits that "I play by feel" really means: 1) I can't count bars, 2) I can't be bothered doing this properly, 3) I don't respect other people and I'm a giant toddler who needs everything my way, 4) All of the above
  23. Do it, do it, do it...
  24. I've got a mate who has some very, very expensive guitars. He can't play in time though. Says it's because he grew up playing jazz. He said that in front of a friend's Mrs, unaware at the time she has a prestigious music degree with her specialist genre being.......... Jazz. She tried not to laugh in his face. Some people just can't admit they have some limitations. Silly really. All he needs is to agree a cue from the drums or something when his time is up and then back to the verses or whatever.
  25. Funny you bring that up, I found $42,500 in left over change from a holiday in the US a few years back....
