  1. And that makes the small size of the UK uplift even more impressive.
  2. Oooh I had one of them.... Maybe it's my old one? PJ pups, maple body?
  3. Jeez, Fender upcharge more than 2x from their Mexican to USA models. Chowny not only brings production to the UK but also improves the spec and people complain about 25% uplift 🤦 it's still cheaper than a Mexican Fender.
  4. And here's the photos.... Yes it's in the loft, space is at a premium, but it's bagged and boxed up there, dry and warm. I can ship! Estimate £15-£20 depending on the service used.
  5. It does it with all basses. I think it's because I'm playing in a garage room and using a powerline internet extender. The amp doesn't sound like this in other rooms. I hope that's the answer anyways! Off on a slight tangent, I recently discovered that I quite like the ABM Pro Neo cabs. They're a bit heftier sounding than the Rootmaster cab, but double the price.
  6. I've just opened the most boring Thomann order ever: A Markbass amp wedge thingy, An iPad mic stand holder thingy, A set of Warwick black label strings. That is a boring order! Best purchase.... Let's see if my left handed Jack Casady bass arrives in one piece. Courier collects it today, kicks the sh!t out of it overnight then crams it through my letterbox tomorrow. I have got hold of two Ashdown Pro Neo 1x15 cabs though in recent weeks. Cab number two should be with me today or tomorrow. That was a nice upgrade.
  7. Does anyone elses RM pickup electrical interference? Mine picks up all sorts in my office, makes me paranoid there's something wrong!
  8. Thanks. I was hoping there would be a Harley Benton or Gear4music cheaper version but doesn't look like it, sadly.
  9. I've got an Epi JC bass incoming, hurrah! Wanted one for ages, got sick of making enquiries to retailers who told me that deliveries from Gibson/ Epiphone are basically lucky dip so there's no way they know if or when anything comes in... Regardless, saw a lefty on eBay this weekend and hit the Buy It Now button. I am going to need a case and some strings... Just wanted some recommendations on both, please. Is there a cheaper case than Epiphone's own? What strings are people using? Thank you!
  10. Nobody saw the left handed Jack Casady come up on eBay this weekend? NBD happening this week 😃
  11. Wishing you all the best with the recovery and bonding time with the bass.
  12. SOLD! PLEASE LOCK I'll do some photos later... Ashdown Rootmaster 1x15 cab... But upgraded! It handles 500w at 8ohms, rather than the standard 250. Has been very reliable, it has been gigged (not sure why "never gigged" is a selling point?) But has also been very well looked after and kept clean, dry, etc. Switchable horn. Great deep, round bass sound. Only selling because I've taken the plunge on more Ashdown gear! Weight less than 15kg which is a very easy one handed carry. Ideally buyer to collect from me, I'm in a village between St Albans and WGC. I can ship! I have a box and padding and can ship. Estimate less than £30 depending on courier and cost of insurance. Mandatory: "plays like butter".

    Boss SYB-5

I had one. Some potentially great sounds but IME only if you're holding a note and not playing a fill. I found anything other than full notes made it glitch all over. And don't catch the edge of your fingernail on the string or the robot malfunction noises all come out. Would be great if EHX updated it to iron this out.
  14. Use whatever fuzz pedal then feed it into a bass wah and rock it back with your heel the right amount to get the "sub" element to the sound. It won't be a precise reproduction but it could sound close.
  15. Input. I don't have the patience to hook up more cables! I use a mix of patches but I prefer not to use cab Sims when doing this because it can get mushy. Having said that some patches have an Ampeg B15 sound for example and this is great for making my Stingray sound a bit closer to a Motown P bass sound. As with all of these things, what works for me might not work for some others. I play a Stingray, roundwound stainless steel strings mostly finger style.
  16. I used to always have it at 12 o'clock and just got used to it there. It used to make my sound a bit louder and more punchy. Now I'm favouring presets on my Helix I have turned it off, but i was going with no pedals I'd have it on, it just seems to work for me and how I play.
  17. I can't seem to share it but on the Left Handed Guitar Sale/ Trade Facebook page there's an EIGHT STRING Rickenbacker. It's up for £4,500. I have absolutely no connection to the seller, items etc, I just noticed it now and thought it's bonkers and I'd share it with you all.
  18. Great news @Chownybassand I hope it pays back on spades for you! Your semi hollows always had a good left handed option, hope that remains....? I'm on the lookout for something I can use for acoustic sets and a made in GB semi hollow bass sounds the perfect solution!
  19. UPS will do a UK delivery for £30 plus cost of insurance....
  20. Well.... I bought this hoping it would cover a P pup but it doesn't. So it's for sale. Cost me a tenner, yours for half that. Never been used. Screws included.
  21. Measurements.... All are approximate With the padded cover on: 62cm wide, 34cm deep, 61cm high. Cover off: Just take a few cm off the above. Head unit only, approx: 56cm wide, 28cm deep roughly, 9cm high
  22. Thanks for the info. I believe this is one of the last "proper" Trace Elliot amps. The image I'm adding to this post is an example of what I mean by Trace "looking a bit rubbish" and from anecdotal evidence it's these models onward that didn't have the classic Trace sound.
  23. You are. And it is. Have considered taking the head unit out and using it with lightweight cabs....
  24. Yep I've paid up for the custom pros having seen the singer from my last band lose his quality of hearing. O don't understand people who use nothing to protect their ears. After one session with the cheaper ACS plugs I was used to them. I even wore them while travelling on the Victoria Line because of the horrific noise it makes. Glad to hear they're not as intrusive as the procedure to make them, that was not comfortable at all.
