  1. While I've not checked it I think it unlikely. It's a bitsa bass that I had a Luthier finish off and set up in full for me early in the year. Likely to just be the neck..... I hope.
  2. A mixed review then! I'm usually quite picky with my strings but it's an expensive month and I want a full setup doing on the bass so plumped for a set of these. They won't be on my main bass so hoping I get good longevity from them. I've done quite well with "value" strings recently so fingers crossed the Maruszczyk flats sound good on a Jack Casady that gets used infrequently
  3. I've got fret buzz at frets 1-3 on each string. It's a Fender neck, easy to get to the rod adjuster. I've just put lighter strings on.... I've tried adjusting the neck (left handed bass, stood it on the floor front facing away from me, Allen key in and tried to twist to my right, towards the G string.... Very hard to get a very small amount of movement) but no luck. I'm not keen on trying to force the rod. Any advice gratefully received.
  4. Has anyone used them? Noticed bass direct had their flats in at £22 a set, thought they could be worth a punt...?
  5. Stop..... I paid £675 for mine just a few weeks back 😥
  6. Cut for a Fender headstock. BEAD. Hardly used at all. Sounds HUGE on a four string bass. Very clean, years and years left in them. Forgot to mention there is a G BUT.... It was on a weird headstock so the silks are cut very short. It won't go on a Fender bass headstock.
  7. Ooooh I'm interested... Can it do a good low gain "soft" fuzz?
  8. This is an absolute beaut too... Sandberg California TT4 Fretless Left handed 3 Color Sunburst https://reverb.com/item/46951685?utm_source=android-app&utm_medium=android-share&utm_campaign=listing&utm_content=46951685
  9. Like buses.... And a hundred quid less than I paid for mine. And mine didn't have a case.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EPIPHONE-JACK-CASADY-LEFT-HANDED-BASS-/324894116457?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0
  10. That's a work of art. Beautiful bass.
  11. There were some good cheap pedals branded Daphon, the Chord branded ones around now look the same. Their bass compressor was really good as a basic unit, had one around 2008. I think I paid £15 for it, full metal casing, good amount of squeeze on the sound of you dialled it up. I like the Caline pedal power bank thingies too, had a couple which have never let me down. Also Harley Benton do their own flat angle cables for connecting pedals that cost peanuts and just do the job. Donner do a good rip off of the pedal train too, fraction of the cost, maybe the bag is a bit cheaper, but it's decent.
  12. Don't get arrested
  13. Hold whatever note you're on. The band quietens to give you your moment. The anticipation from the crowd is palpable.... Pick up a pint and down it in one. Or, if you don't drink alcohol, a coffee. Make sure you can consume the drink within your allocated 8 bars. Jump back in to the groove with the rest of the band on the one.
  14. "It's all in the fingers". 😂😂😃👍
  15. Whatever you decide to do, change up your existing basses or buy a P I'd say now is not a good time to sell off basses second hand. Either trade or save up.
  16. One walked off apparently. But she complained to the audience a few times about needing a leak.
  17. I've only got the neck of a Fender player P but it's a lovely, lovely neck.
  18. I did it because there was barely enough space on stage for my size 9s and definitely not a pedal board (Boss GT10B at the time which has some size to it). I liked the simplicity, I didn't like tuning via my mobile phone app though. But I kept it going with that band, all the effects I used were EQ based anyway so nobody really noticed except me. I would lose something with the band I've just joined though if I didn't have my effects available. I could probably get away with it as I use an Ashdown head unit and I could use it's built in drive and sub features but it wouldn't be the same.
  19. Dividing profit out by the number of pints sold is just an easy way of conceptualising it, especially if pints are what they sell most of. Then it's easy to think up how much extra you need to do to be able to pay the bills and brewery fees for the next month or close down
  20. Maybe because everyone on Reverb low balls?
  21. What if you complained on stage about needing a pee but you were in the breakdown of a Rage cover so.... https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/news/sophia-urista-brass-against-fan-b1957226.html I do not in any way condone, enjoy or glorify this behaviour.
  22. Winner!! £50 cheaper than the Epiphone bag... And it actually exists. One retailer says they will have the Epiphone ones for end of the calendar year, another says six months, one says Epiphone has closed their order books for the year so they just can't say when they can expect any in. They all want me to buy now though.... Hmmmm.
  23. That is awesome! Sometimes I try to cull my collection of basses etc but when I see things like this I go all warm inside.
  24. Would that fit a full scale bass? Still searching in vain for a case for my Jack Casady!
