Here's a BUMPer picture of this amazing instrument. I had the honour of warming the bass up before CK refined it. It really is a great bass, and Steve's a great guy to deal with. Such a rarity, this beast. Woods like these don't grow on trees y'know (gets my coat and sneaks out of this thread pronto)

Sold dudewheresmybass89 my Spector Performer 5 and found him to be a quality Basschatter.

I bought this new from PMT Leeds just before Christmas. I got it for a recording project. I put flats on to get a moody retro sound. However, the buyer can have wirewounds put back on if preferred. The project has evolved in to a different sound, one which I find my Indie 6 copes better with, hence this sale. The street prices for these new are typically in the £300 ball park, but I'll accept £200 + delivery. I love the passive range of sounds of this bass, plus the shallow D profiled neck is a joy to play. I'm loving my Q-Tron. The good thing is they are not rare, so buying used is possible.
ACG 01 Pre-amp has a separate filter stack for each pickup.
Cool! It gives me ideas for when I get round to ordering a custom bass. Separate volume controls for each pickup is not unusual, but being able to adjust tone adjustments per pick up, before blending, just seems so right I can't think why it isn't more common!
-
The Vigier, reviewed in the latest BGM, seems to have the ability to set the tone controls for each pup, then be able to blend both. This seems such a perfect an idea for twin pickup active basses. Can this be found in other stock basses, or onboard pre-amps?

For those bringing amps, (and Sorry if it's teaching grandma to suck eggs) please bring mains extension cables/multi-adaptors. It's a decent size room, but sockets are spread about somewhat. -

Sundays are good for most shops to be open in Harrogate. Or there's free live entertainment at the Blues Bar (town centre) on a Sunday aft. http://www.bluesbar.co.uk/diary.html -

Anyone coming by train, the nearest station is Hornbeam Park and there's a neat shortcut that should make it only a 4 minute walk. If you are coming from Leeds, go up the platform exit stairs to the road and turn RIGHT. If coming from York, go up exit stairs and turn LEFT and go over the bridge. Either way, you are on hookstone Road. Within 100 metres you'll see a footpath on the left. Go up the footpath and there's an exit on the right by the school. You are then about 50 yards from the Manhattan Snooker Club. See ya there! -
My Genz-Benz (Shuttle 6.0) kind of reminds me of an old Guinness commercial, where the guy keeps looking at the pouring pint from so many angles ...I guess he was wondering "WTF" etc. Eight months on from getting one, I feel like that guy. This amp is stupidly small, light as a pedal and ... frankly, a bit toy like. Can you imagine Jeremy Clarkson reviewing it? "It's like having a Trabant body enclosing a McLaren F1" But closing my eyes, I get all the sonic sensations I need. And hell, is it loud! I really can't see myself selling it, as if I ever had the need to get another amp, I'd still have this as a back-up/rehearsal amp. At 4 ohms load, this 600w+ amp, with an active bass, is louder than loud! Honestly, it HURTS. Maybe there's an after-market Papier-mâché Ampeg-looking thing that the Shuttle could hide within, thus it could end up looking as enormous as it sounds?

I’m not connected to famous folk, so please forgive me this rare name-drop, but I have a mutual friend of some of the TCB guys. Here's a pic I took at a gig in Blackpool on 22nd July 2005. Singing on this song was support act Percy Sledge. Playing the sax is Bob Horn, who we had dinner with, and his family, before the show. Drummer is Paul Leim, Off camera are Glen D. Hardin , James’s son and the Sweet Inspirations. After the show, we all got on a coach to a party. My friend introduced me to Jeff as another bass player . Found myself idly chatting away to James Burton about strings and things. My only regret was I wish I had been more sober and asked more intelligent questions!
