1. Must resist Year of Birth Bass....
2. Chris, still interested. Is the body a slab type or gut cut profiled?
3. http://www.tech21nyc.com/reviews/images/pdf_reviews/B410_bassplayer.pdf Jacker's, your LM300 was made for it... That's what I have. Lovely clean sound and can't say it lacks for tone despite lack of tweeter.
4. Bought a Vanderkley 112EXT from Gilles (truly as new, not a mark on it, even still smells new!!). Great communication and references allayed my fears of private international transactions. I researched both Paypal and Bank Transfer costs and we settled on Paypal to speed things up. Payment went through about 5pm Monday, confirmation of receipt and choice of courier (who I checked out) within an hour. Cabinet was at Courier just after 3pm Tuesday and I had both tracking numbers (GLS and Parcel Force) soon after. Been like a kid on Christmas morning since seeing it was on a van in Rotherham at 6.26am. So arrived in less than 3 days from payment and 2 days from starting it's journey. Brilliant! Packaging was the original Vanderkley box, labelled up as requested. Check out Gilles' website gear list. He is a true gear head. You (like me) may benefit as items are sold on He has been a pleasure to deal with. But then I would say that, I just saved 40% on what is effectively a brand new Vanderkley Cab thanks to his preference for Aguilar tone !
5. Gilles, Vous êtes génial ! Il est parfait. 3 days from payment and 45 hours from courier receipt. I am happy as a pig in poo !!! Merry Christmas to me Now... ...off to Gilles' Feedback thread to say thank you ...then later I'll fully report on my new compact rig. ...and the no doubt start the hunt down the back of the sofa (and a few for sale ad's) to raise cash to buy a 210MNT Perfect international transaction. Merci Gilles !
6. Gilles, I'll have it....You have Mail (private and Basschat)
7. Just tested and bought a BH250 at Dawsons in Leeds (wanted to try first). Great tool but will need footswitch to be really versatile to switch between last two loaded patches. Been through most of the online Toneprints and some of them are flawed and drop out (particularly Flangers so not concerned). The Spectracomp Compressor is impressive as are some of the Chorus and Cleaner Octave effects. Rosco beck's harmonic Butler Octave is a bit of a beast Think it unlikely they will ever release the Toneprint editor. I really want something that takes advange of the +1 Octave so will have to be patient. Now to find cab(s) to use with it
8. Try walking through a door frame while 4 string still round your neck. Hence I now have a D-Tuner having bent the one originally on G-String and not being able to find idential tuner
9. Snarky Puppy - Tell Your Friends Saw them last night at The Wardrobe in Leeds..... I implore you go see them in Glasgow (in a few minutes), Edinburgh, Manchester or London. One of those bands where recordings cannot come close (which is why they record live). Michael League and Friends I salute you !!! Check out their videos for Thing of Gold or Bent Nails online
10. Yes please to the body. Need something with 62mm pocket and that is perfect
11. Anyone know of source for these? Reckon originally were held in with a little bit of threadlock, but I've lost one. Seems a bit excessive to contact Schaller or Fender but sure they've got their own part number
12. Well that's my week sorted... I'll give myself odds of 7:1 as to actually getting it to muscle memory Great link, ta

14. What's the width at the neck pocket please ?
15. Wow, bargain. Remember folks there's an extra few frets and a lighter, smaller body with through stringing option.
16. Crikey, not sure I should bump this up the forum . Shocked it's still here as priced to sell, the only reason I've not bought it is 3 basses bought in last 3 months . I have briefly tried this (probably good job it was brief else I'd be handing over the readies) ! If still here tonight I may have to think again regards my current 2 out, 1 in rule....and I have an understanding Missus
17. Ta muchly, starting from a Fender plate and cutting down seems best bet then. Not got a standard Jazz in the fold. The '89 Korean Squier needed custom plate as nothing like US or Japan basses. Could get closer if Controlplate was changed for US but no doubt that is drilled and positioned differently too
18. Anyone know which scratchplate any of these are ? Hoping something that does not need butchering.
19. Tempted for a new build.. and local
20. Two spring to mind both about 20 years ago. First trying to walk (pissed and full of cold) through a door to go shout our percussionist back in from the garden (stoned and asleep by garden pond). Door Frame 1, Squier Jazz Headstock and Tuner 0. Still has scar 20 years later and Hipshot D Tuner (to replace the bent one off the G) Second one, playing in Sheffield City Hall Ballroom (Big band gig, Motorhead were upstairs ) and my untrusted Carlsbro Cobra 90 was playing up. Unscrewed the front cover and inspected (live) to find Bridge Rectifier had broken solder. I pointed this out by touching said item, and blew a perfect 2mm square hole deep into my right index finger. Made the gig hard work but learned Electrical safety in one painful lesson.
21. Had Rotosound Flats on CV Jazz in order to try and replicate feel and tone of a '64 Relic . With proper vintage pickups and wiring it may have got close eventually. I'd say the fine frets lend themselves to Flats more than rounds.
22. Deposit in the Internet banking Ether
23. ...and seal of approval bump from a Tech21 tart. Landmark 300 and Trademark 10 here in this household. Friend's 60 is a very capable working amp with sweet tones but no tube shenanigans
