Fender Jazz MIJ 75-Reissue. Fitted with noiseless Fender SCN pickups. Made in 1990 afaik. Great low action, currently strung with DR Hi Beams or Lo Rides (can't remember which). Unfortunately i don't have any scales so i can't weigh it, but its definitely not heavy. There are some marks on the back of the neck around the 12th fret position after lending it to a friend for a gig, who obviously put it on a old cheap stand. They are only cosmetic & havn't bothered me but i like to be honest. It's in amazing condition for its age. A very reluctant sale. Only selling to pay off overdraft & credit card after my accommodation royally f****d me up. Sale only, no trades so please don't ask. £575 with shipping to UK only. The bass comes with a pretty much new Hiscox case. Any questions, fire them away.

Ok, EBS Neo 110, 8ohm. Only bought this recently but have come into some money issues so hopefully selling this will sort it & i won't need to get rid of my Jazz. Looking for £200 collected. It can be collected from Manchester or Huddersfield. I'm not driving atm so can't meet up unfortunately, and have no packing materials to post.
We all know what a big bass amp sounds like and in that setting its never going to be EQ'd to your own personal tastes anyway IMO. I also had an idea about loud rooms, Lots of seperate rooms even classrooms around the building where anyone serious about trying basses at gig level could choose to go with the luthiers to an Ashdown room or a Markbass room etc with a few chosen examples for a 5 minute slot or something (Im making this up as I go so bear with me ) then all volume in the trade area must be kept reasonable. Oh and no slap! Ha
Believe it or not but all of the rooms are booked all the time. I study at RNCM and bar a few open rooms on the top floor, everything is booked & well used by students.

Action Stations! Do you like a high action?
JakeBrownBass replied to gjones's topic in General Discussion
My jazz bass has higher action than i'd normally use but it just sounds better with the action higher. My Siggery has the lowest action on a bass that i've ever used and i've set it up to perfection for me. -

Faithfully memorizing bass covers - how many?
JakeBrownBass replied to kiat's topic in General Discussion
I play in 4 different groups regularly and both have sets of over 50 songs, there are always some the same so i guess about 150 that i could pic without any issue. For the rest i've got an iPad with well over 2000 sheets on that i can recall in seconds. -
Personally, I think people should be wary with Leeds College of Music as they are currently undergoing a number of major staff changes and it's probably not the same as when others studied here. I'm not putting anyone off going, just do your research as they have decided not to renew contracts with key members of staff. In my opinion, it does not send out the right messages when an institute decides to not continue it's associations with good quality instrumentalists and lecturers.
+1 to this. Also, its now currently owned by Bradford University, so your degree certificate will be from them, not LCM.
Two interesting interpretations. Personally I'd write it with sixteenths and ties (beginning in 6/4) as there is so much backbeat throughout the track. Good luck doing some of those jumps to runs on a 5. There is a good version of this with the Camilo New York band on YouTube (complete with a minor mess-up!) - Anhony looks like he's reading it but plays most of the runs lower down on the top C string. Having also transcribed his parts on the rest of the album, there is some fabulous playing all round. I think the highlight for me is Caribe as it's just nuts!
Care to share those transcriptions
I'm doing this at the minute as well, to play with a big band (was just about to write another post regarding it funnily enough !) - and I'm finding it a killer to get up to speed with ! I can't play it on a 5 string, I have to use a 6 to get round some of those bass runs !! I have the bass chart I can post so you can compare if you like ?
That'd be sweet mate.

Hey guys, Live in the city centre & study at RNCM. Sightreading, theory & ear are all up at the top with 'chops' to match. Looking for anything new to add. Functions, singer song writers. I've had a lot of experience in the originals scene up and down the country. Willing to play anything, preferably paid but if i like the stuff your doing i'll happily work for free to start. Jake
A real feeler at the moment- I have a nice new bass coming in and feel it may be time for an amp change too (for no other reason that the head is a bit heavy). Anyway, EBS TD650 in Gator case (along with two EBS Neo 212s). Head is in very good condition, cabs are too (though the plastic edges show some wear and the plastic cover off one of the horn dials is missing). I’ll get some pics up later. Happy to look at just trading the head or the rig together. I’m after something equally light with the cabs and something lighter with the head. Dan
Fancy trading one of the 112's for an Epifani ul210 series 1 ???
