1.
I've had a couple of alleged GP5 tabs from 911Tabs.com that my copy of GP5 refuses to open, claiming I "need to upgrade" or some such nonsense. TuxGuit opens 'em just fine & it's a whole heap easier to use. Tux is now on my list of essential software, & I reckon it's Big Red Lever Time for GP. Pete
If you have paid for your copy of guitar pro, you get free updates when you sign on to the website with your details.
Get yourself on tuxguitar mate, its freeware and opens guitarpro files no problem
Why bother when you already own GP5??
 2.
Can anyone tell me, is it possible to run more than one reciver from a single transmitter, as both my drummer and i wish to go down this route. we will both use the same mix and thought that this might be a good money saving idea...
AFAIK, yes you can on all of them. I know for definite you can on the Shure PSM200, so all you have to buy is an extra receiver!
 3.
Shame when an artist of her calibre doesn't have band credits on her website - I agree, lovely track.
Afaik, alot of the bass playing on the record was played by Steve Chrisanthou. Well it was on the early demos. He her producer and is mainly a guitarist but can always laydown a solid groove. He's my uncles best mate so i can get the name of the bassist playing with here live & find out who recorded the studio work but may take a couple of days

 9. Hi guys, due to a looming car bill something has to go so it looks like this is first! I don't really know much about this bass so i'm going to steal a description from eubassix, hope you don't mind! I think i'm the 5th owner of this bass and it sounds fantastic. It comes with a set of nearly new set of Eurosonic strings.
A quick summary of the info below would be to say that it has 3 different pickup options, a piezo in the hollow chamber, a piezo in the bridge, and a magnetic at the end of the fingerboard (body end not headstock end). You have an on board eq system and pickup pan for the acoustic chamber piezo and magnetic pickup, and you then feed that signal from the jack, and the Bridge piezo signal, via jack, into the K&K Pre-amp that velcros onto the back...you can then mix the signals there before sending the final sound to the amp...suffice to say, it sounds wicked!!!! Here's a more detailed description: “Bassmaster” eub (electric-upright bass) hand-built by Alan Hatswell of Bassix. Bass is about 5-6 years old, ¾ size, and its construction and pickup system really sets it apart from most other eub’s. There's a magnetic pickup across the heel of the neck and a piezo located inside the acoustic chamber. These signals are able to be blended using the knob on the front. This is then routed via a 3-band EQ and a ‘pre-shape’ knob to the ¼ " jack at the rear. This combination provides for the acoustic 'air' and authentic / acoustic tone(s) that many eub’s lack. In addition, there's another piezo moulded into the bridge, which gives a lovely 'mwaah'. Either of these outputs give a great useable tone, but blended together produce sounds as close to a real upright bass as you're ever likely to get. This is able to be done using a small battery powered K&K preamp (Velcro connection to the back. The bridge mounted piezo jack connection also fixes by Velcro to the side of the bass). This requires short leads from the piezo and rear-socket, then an output jack/jack to your amp, but the sound quality is exceptional. Of course, it’s also possible to use a single output from either (depending upon your preferred/required tone) OR an independent lead from each if your amp has the facility OR a split jack+jack/jack (such as those used on the Chapman Stick) The instrument has a fair few scratches and chips (see photos) but these are all cosmetic, mainly due to the composite construction. The tuners are Schallers and work smoothly. It is currently fitted with Astrea strings (as recommended by ‘Bassix’) which work well and are probably the cheapest you’ll find at about £40/set. It comes with a fleecy zip-case, and with the end-pin retracted it'll easily fit into a small family car. The overall length (with end-pin retracted) is 69”, with a 42” scale. Max. width is 13” and depth 7”. The eub weighs 14½ lbs.
There's some more pictures here, Pics And pictures taken today Any questions, just ask

 12.
Are the scratchplate screws extra?
I'm guessing its stuck on with double sided so if you ever want to take it off you don't have any ugly holes in it

 15.
It could be that there's a nice easy explanation to all of this, but the longer I go without any form of response or Bright Box, the less likely I find this. Graham, if you're reading this, you have until 9am tomorrow morning to get me an answer before I go to whatever relevant authorities I can. Doubt they'll do anything but I've got to try.
Lee-man is classed as a friend on his profile. Maybe it would be worth contacting him??
 16. Hmm might be tempted by this if the bike i'm looking at falls through. Hmm, another bass or get fit.....another bass or get fit
 17.
At the risk of echoing the above, I don't think I'd have your lot playing in my car - but it's a very good recording, and I'd be bloody proud to call it mine. Hope that helps!
thanks for the kind words

 20. Hey guys, We've finally got some mixes up online from our recording time we had in Wales at the start of December! It's been a very very long process but really happy with the outcome. Just looking for your opinions really The bass used was a pretty beat up fender jazz with flats, running through a vintage selma amp into a no name cab. Also di'd and then reamped later. The bass playing isn't exactly exciting but is whats needed for the song. All the playing whats right for the situation stuff You can listen on myspace or facebook Facebook Myspace
