Just get an EBS Microbass II, or lots of other multi channed preamps. Sansamp?
Thats my ideal, but i'm really skint atm so was looking at some cheaper alternatives as i've got free access to most components. Jake
If you check out the high pass filter preamp on his site, the main difference is that he has a capacitor in series with the input. If you have an active bass, it probably has a capacitor on the output anyway, so you would need to try it and experiment if required. Yes for active basses, which have enough current drive, but no for passive basses, where the low impedance of the pot would suck most of the tone out of your sound
Ok, i'm with you! Now with the passive problem, what can i use to boost the signal without loosing the tone?? An op-amp like with the headphones?? Just so i can make one channel switchable between active & passive. Gonna have to start drawing some designs up me thinks! Jake
is that dyed burl? wow! got me thinking, red dyed burl would look like some apocalyptic vortex...awesome!!!
Crazykiwi said this in abother thread,
I think that finish is achieved by spraying a stain over the wood and sanding it back. Jens has a real eye for dramatic impact though.
-
thanks for the quick response! That first circuit you posted, the guy says he really recommends that its only used with piezo pickups? Could i use a design like this?? But the outputs as inputs and vice versa?? Then could it be as simply as adding a pot after each input?? Then for the headphone output, use a simple op-amp amplifier circuit??
christ...thats gorgous. the long horn is abit too prince for me, but its custom so id have that sorted;-) why 2 9v batterys? pickups and eq? some(all?) of the ibanez SR basses are passive pickups/active EQ so thats why I say that.
18v electronics i'm guessing. Not sure whether its for more headroom on the pre-amp boost & cut, or active eq & pickups. -Jake -
OH GOD, MY EYES!!! That's a bit frantic and trippy. Also, was there any need to post it in here AND in bass guitars? http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=38332
Well i wanted everyone to see it And i couldn't decide where it fitted better -
So then, just wondering if anybody knows of a schematic that will do the following 2 switchable inputs with 1 output. With 2 separate volume controls with the 2 inputs. Thats simple enough, but what would be ace is to have a headphone output on the pedal with its own volume?? Added diagram Would be great if someone could point me in the right direction! Cheers Jake
A bit OTT for me i think. Much prefer a nice plain finish... must be getting old!
Don't get me wrong, its way OTT for me, i like a nice solid or simple natural finish but you've gotta admire that thing! -
I like Ritters -- but that's too busy for me. I'd prefer it if they did the whole body in the yellow and blue from the lower half. How much is it? (doesn't matter -- I can't afford it ) Cheers Mark
Theres not a price up there! lol. Alot i think -
what i mean is, a seller has posted a 'bump', and then a couple of hours later, deleting his last bump and then posting a new one, so it jumps back to the top again, but appears to have been only bumped once Yes, i spend too much time drooling over basses in the classifieds....
ahh ok, i get ya!
i dont think previous bumps should be deleted, purely because iv seen several sellers lately abusing that. One seller, who will remain unnamed, bumped his thread at least 3 times in one day that i saw, by deleting his previous bumps I usually bump once every 2 days, but i only do this because if in dont it just dissapears.... if everyone agreed to bump once a week or so, itl be a much less crowded place to be.
Your add doesn't bump itself by deleting posts?? Also, i've bumped alot recently but this is only because so much is getting added that after 10 hours its been on the 2nd page! Jake
