I take it we're talking real Ricks here - if so, that's a great price, however long it takes.
Yeah, that's a real one. PMT offered to match it as well. My worry is I will finally get it and I'll be disappointed, which is why I'm looking for a cheaper copy. TBH, if I miss out on this one, I'll probably order a real one, or see if my stuff sells and I'll buy a 2nd hander. There's a nice blue boy on ebay at the moment with a toaster and pearly plate added for a similar price. Undecided about the colour though.

From CH Guitar parts? I've been nosing at that for a long time. I think the previous sale got pulled didn't it?

Another will show up, I've waited 15 years to decide to finally get round to buying something...... Although, I'm strongly considering ordering one, and paying for it in installments. Reidy's are doing them for £999. It'll be paid for by the time it arrives...
Do my eyes deceive me or is the Ibanez a 7 string?
Yep. Can't play it No problems with 5,6,7 string basses, but I just didn't get on with the guitar. I can't make my hands move in small increments, if you get what i mean. it's like trying to play a ukelele to me......
Well I ordered a Pick up and bridge cover from some site in spain, it turns out they didn't have the bridge cover so they offered to cancel the order but I went ahead and bought the pickup cover on it's own, so I just went on ebay and found the complete set so I got that. Now I need to sell one of the pickup covers I believe it's a genuine Fender part aswell. Looking for £10 shipped.
The square precision one, or the curved jazz one?
Considering the current buoyancy of the Rickenfaker market, sub - £200 would be OK for this. The Hondo looks very tidy, (considering), I think Nick's talking about the catalogue classic held together with sticky tape! J.
yeah, i saw that one The hondo would be perfect for me. I can't *really* justify the expense of a real one, and this looks exactly right, which lets face it is part of the appeal. The Tokai that's on ebay at the mo has the wrong sort of cover on the bridge pup, which put me off.

Are we discussing the same bass? It's £77, not £499. And for those of us that are watching it intently because we're too tight for a real one and this one is shiny, what's wrong with it??

Epiphone Thunderbird - any good?

This one sprang to mind: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Epiphone-Thunderbird...1QQcmdZViewItem -
Epiphone Thunderbird - any good?
thedarxide replied to solo4652's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
lol, there have been one or two cheap ones recently. they're good basses, just be prepared for neck droop and having to compensate. takes a bit of getting used to and is one reason why my doesn't get as much play as it should because it makes my fretting hand wrist hurt. -
... that may be true, assuming that they know the value of what they have. To be honest, I can't imagine them putting that much effort or thought into it given the masses of stuff that must pass through their hands. So long as they make a good mark up I would be surprised if they could care very much. One of my pals has had at least half a dozen very good deals out of CC, but then he does check it with alarming regularity. I guess that is the key, plus a little luck!
They check. Or they did when I was there. I had an old Teisco tulip g****r that they went to great lengths to value before offering me any money.

6-string unlined fretless "H&S" (WITHDRAWN)
The dot markers are gobsmackingly stupid
My old Yamaha BB was the same but that was lined, and my Columbus jazz is the same. it confuses me sometimes, i guess it depends what you're used to and what you use as a guide. Didn't know stingrays were different. I forgot to mention the rosewood nuts! I've got one on a Columbus EB-3 copy and it's lasted 30 odd years but they do look a bit fragile.... Certainly an honest listing. I've had a punt as promised and will keep an eye. Hope you get what you want. -
OK well I've had time to calm down, think I'm going to be a bit more rational about the eBay listing. It's currently 7 hefty paragraphs of pretty nasty language but I think I've got it out of my system now! I think 5 months of fury at these bastards has got the better of me.
Lol. It's a shame, really. I know they were just rebranding chinese stuff but I really do love mine and I know there are other happy customers. They could have had a good thing going. -
The saddles are quite cool and the tuners look like the ones on my old Godin, so maybe someone will want them.
My one "regret" with the 7 string is that is has an all in one rosewood bridge, rather than 7 individual saddles like that one. But I don't think i've intonated a bass in my life.... Well let us know when it's up. I'm really not a fretless player, but I will definently have a punt. I only have two 4 string fretless basses, I might need the extra strings or something.... -
Wow, I had a park as my first bass amp in the 90's. didn't know they were that old....
Well I'm going to stick it on eBay and list it honestly, see what it goes for. God only knows I don't want it. If nothing else I'll have fun writing the listing.
I'd be in for the raffle. Either way, i might still have a bid on ebay... I can't afford what you want, and I don't want to take the piss, but if it honestly plays okay then I'll bid.... -
Why the secrecy of the price - people like this make me laugh - what's it bloody matter? If you got a bargain you'll get a pat on the back, if you overpaid, then we'll just laugh... Crack Convertors are (were?) the biggest bunch of rip off merchants I have ever come across (back in the days when I had little cash, I flogged all my expensive belongings to keep a car on the road...distinctly remember selling £1200 worth of camera gear for £250 )
yeah when my baby was born i *really* needed cash. I got £25 for a flying V copy. But I did get a nice jazz bass for £70.....

The finishing around the jack socket has been picked up by everyone I've spoken to who has one. The fretted sequoias had humbuckers with exposed poles, so maybe you've just got a fretless version of that. All of my fretless basses have the dots in between the "frets" rather than at the note position, so I wouldn't say that was an "error" If you catch mine in the right light you can see a few spots under the laquer that look like dust settled before it was finished, but you do have to look for them. I agree on the size of the neck, but I like that. I think I got lucky. The other guy I know who got a 7 string had a problem with his high F, in that the whole string was dead or buzzing!. I do intend to fully review mine, but this week hasn't gone to plan. Very happy with both of mine. I'm sure you'll sell it. When I was after a cheap 6 I was looking at the Shine basses and the ones from Thomann. I'd have snapped this up for that price. -

Glad to hear it's finally coming If it's anything like my two H&S basses, it will in fact be a very nice bass, so I hope no one writes it off because of the company. I'm too far from York and I'd probably get lynched for buying another, but www.senditnow.com will ship it for £13.99 guarenteed noon next day. Used them dozens of times. -
