1.
I've had rows with the mods (amongst others) about querying s/h values. It's a nonsense not to be able to debate the value of a bass on this Forum.
Well in that vein, PMT offered to do me one for £999, but I'll have to wait 18 months for it to arrive.....
 2. What's the listing fee for that??
 3. I have an eight string and it's fantastic. Really solid build, quality components, had no issues with it at all.
 4. Someone's having a clearout... http://musical-instruments.search.ebay.co....assZanonyQ5f500
 5.
Greetings Fellow H&S Anxiety Sufferers !, I ordered (and paid for) a 5 string fretless in November last year. Come the end of January after no comms from H&S, my sister threatened them with legal action (she's always up for a fight ..) . Their reply was that the bass had been returned damaged to them - not by me as I've yet to clap eyes on the beast - and that another would be available at the beginning of March. Ok, I thought ,just another few weeks of waiting. Come the end of March and still no bass, my emails go unanswered. From what I've read in the other posts it seems there's more than a random chance of non-delivery and my suspicions re Far East origination are no longer suspicions. I'll join anyone who's planning a trip to Hanover - this company need instruction in honesty and customer service. Brodie
That's unfortunate to hear. I'd be suprised if German's would put up with this. Is there an equivelant of Trading Standards or something? Not wishing to rub noses, but I took the rest of the week off work and I haven't put the 7 string down, hence my lack of an update. I'll post full reviews later next week.
 6. I'm "renovating" a Columbus copy of a Gibson EB-3 that's been in my loft for 10 years in parts. The original wiring loom has a three way pickup selector, but I'd like to try and add the original wiring options. Does anyone know where I can get a choke for it? I've tried the part numbers and got nothing, I don't know if it's the sort of thing you can just get from maplins or what... otherwise I might just wire a rotary switch for the look but leave off the last position.

I wish i had the money! Rob.
It's gone, but I just want to have a rant about postage charges since I've bought 10 basses in the past few weeks. I know it's postage *and packing*, but ParcelForce 48 (the cheapest) is like £9.99. Hell, next day by noon is only £13.99. What the hell is he spending the other £15 on?
 8.
What jobs do you guys do that allows you to view ebay links during the day?? I'm in the wrong line of business. Either that or the IT department here are over zealous.
I'm in IT. And you can bet I'm over zealous
 9. The best bit is where he says it's based on the Ibanez destroyer..... Collection only. I have family near Truro, may be they can go round and laugh. It's also got three screws on the truss rod cover which is a quick give away with auctions like this.
 10.
I think I've seen one of those on eBay, but I didn't see the point unless you use altered tunings. I've got some pincers, and I'm gonna use 'em... If it turns out to be a good player when I've got it set up, I shall be looking at an Artec active circuit to replace the dual VT setup.
What does the selector do on yours? I assume it's for the outputs, rather than a neck/bridge pickup selector?
 11.
You'll be pleased to find out that the twin-neck is identical to the Artecs twin-neck I got for £70 (except that I have a fretted 4-string neck, but that means I have MORE BATS!!!)
I think I've seen one of those on eBay, but I didn't see the point unless you use altered tunings. For me, being able to switch between fretted and fretless will be really handy in the jazz group I play with, I'll only have to take one bass! In the 10 seconds I noodled, the action seemed fine and there was no buzz, although the strings were slack for shipping but I don't expect any problems once they're tuned. They were a bit cold and condensationy [sic] so once they've aclimatised to my house there might be some issues....
 12.
Bagged a bargain by the looks of it Very similar to a Charvel that I had... it was a long L O N G time ago (think Poison, Motley Crue and big hair) honest
That's why I decided to have a punt. I've always wanted a white charvel with a skinny neck (in both directions). This ones neck is far too palm-filling for mega fast '80s metal though. It's not impossible, just not too comfortable, I was playing along to Kill 'Em All last night.
 13.
thought VAT had to be paid by the buyer when it gets shipped. mehh.. my bad. might get one myself now! lol
My assumption was that VAT is included, it is on ebay.
 14. Only real thought here is that the pic is so high res, how noticable is it really?
 15. THEY'RE HERE!! My neighbour signed for them so I've just popped home and unpacked them, will have to give a detailed review later as I had to come back to work and haven't played them, but just as a taster, and so I can be excited all afternoon.... (i've just noticed the 5 string neck has 27 frets....)
 16.
BEWARE though! its importing from germany so you'll have to pay import tax and VAT on it.
Really? I've got two guitars arriving from Germany today, wasn't aware I was going to get charged!?
 17. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=300212789201 I saw the listing whilst looking for something else, and thought that the issues with it could probably be sorted, otherwise I'd get a decent amount of pots and parts for my cash. Bass arrived last night, and I can't find anything wrong with it. In fact, the only flaw I can find *anywhere* is that a few frets on the treble side are peeking out of the binding. So for less than the price of a takeaway I've found myself a steal. It's a really, really, nice bass. If I was really awkward, I'd rather have a reverse headstock, and the neck is far chunkier than you'd expect on an instrument that looks like this. It's got to be one of the fattest I've played. The final thing is, I can't figure out what all the knobs do!! There's definently vol/tone for each pickup, but it seems like the one on it's own is the tone for the bridge, and the one in the middle seems to be some kind of intermediate tone, but there's no cap on the pot and it seems quite subtle. Weird.....

 20.
I've emailed them numerous times asking where the **** my bass is - no response. I think the employee who knew how to use a computer must've gone back to college. FTR I ordered a fretless 6 for £79, purely because a friend of mine found a fretless 5 for £89 and I wanted to get 1 more string for less money than he paid. It wasn't about quality at all, it was purely a willy-waving exercise. Every time he calls me now the first thing he says is "Have you got your bass yet?". I hung up on him yesterday when he did it.
According to UPS both of mine are in the post, so no new dispute to raise. Just hope they're okay when they arrive, which should be Wednesday.
 21.
The Maya Wreckenbacker's "no longer for sale". Someone made him an offer he couldn't refuse, then. J.
Interesting. It went beyond what I'd have paid (£50). I mean, a new bridge is going to be £100, a scratchplate about £40 to have one cut to the right shape, I'll presume the pickups themselves are okay so another £30 on pots etc. Personally I'd have wired a single output rather than try and fix the rico-sound part. Then god knows how much money and time on filler, paint, gloss.... and this is all assuming the neck isn't warped. I was given an old Charvel that had been stored with out strings and a tight truss rod, the neck was tipped back so far it was irrepairable.

 24. It looks similar to the Spector holoflash I had. You really had to catch it in the right light though, otherwise it just looked dusty!
 25. It's reasonably within driving distance, I drove to Southampton the other day for a Tanglewood warrior, this isn't too much further. I'd definently be interested, but I wouldn't pay too much because it's just for curiosity.
