Is it me or do many odd signatures not flow as well as even ones? "Money" is a bit of an exception.
Solsbury Hill! It grooves like mad, esp. the Secret World Live DVD version. edited to add: written and sung by the failed and sacked Genesis vocalist, naturally.

To read your post in a bona fide way, I couldn't answer, because I've always been a musician. (Debuted in Szentendre at age 12! I wasn't getting any back then! Girls at 12 aren't all they're cracked up to be, would be much easier to get casual sex now. From women my age, that is.) In my circumstance, what I DID answer was: 'yes dear.' You know what I did then? You wanna know? Well iamma gonna tell you anyways. I went on to drink like I was 22 again and tried to score with women like I was 22 again. (With comparable success. I've never, not once, scored with a woman from a bar. Usually because I'm always totally focken' pissd, other times because I'm sh*t at disguising my real interests when I've had a pint or three. I DID once invite a woman for late-night tea from this gig I was playing...) So I got back to gigging right quick. Since 'your friend' is hypothetically getting an ultimatum from 'his wife' - do you have kids? I complete disagreement with The Admiral's wife, there's PLENTY of fish in the sea. Research does NOT suggest a very limited number of possible partners. Research DOES suggest a vast number of possible partners with whom a working relationship can be had, but in reality, you only meet a limited number of people to with whom there'll be mutual attraction while the prevailing conditions are favourable.
Indeed you are right John. This is I suppose the classic era NT Thumb bass. If you equate Warwicks with 'clubby' necks then you need to think again. If I wasn't playing 5 string basses pretty much exclusively this would still be mine but the opportunity to pair my NS5 with a Euro 5LX was too much of a temptation. Ville is a real gent to deal with. Peter
Many thanks Peter! You were quite personable yourself, as I recall. And it is indeed a shame this is a four-stringer, it'd be a keeper otherwise. If I was sure this would be a collectable like, say, early Fenders I'd keep it as an investment, but I don't know, warwicks were produced in too large numbers for that to happen, surely? Besides, part of that Fender mystique comes from there only being Fender bass and some other basses back then. (Sorry Gibson lovers) Oh, and to keep stuff moving (and the wife happy) I'm lowering the asking price a little. How does 1150 pounds shipped sound?

Greeneking's four-string Thumb is a rocking bass! I just don't play fours anymore. What sets this bass apart from most warwicks on sale is the wenge neck which is not available even at the street price of 2700e (per Thomann.de) of neck-through thumb basses. The Ovangkol necks are generally considered quite unwieldy, while this bass has a really slick and easy-playing neck. Just so you know. Thunderous tone and easy playability. Everything works perfectly and you can tell Peter takes good care of his instruments. The bass is in great condition with only very minor marks which I didn't get to show too well in the photos. I can try to snap better pics of the marks, but I'm sure Greeneking would be happy to confirm their scarcity. I'd like to get about 1150 pounds for it.

Well, it's a really nice bass but I have too many and jazzes aren't doing it to me lately. Has VTC and humcanceling pickups. Comes with the Sadowsky hard light case. Ash body, maple neck... You know what this is, right? I have been able to get the VERY minor scratches in the back of the bass to show up nicely under the lens by making the light hit them in just the right angle. Otherwise the bass is in mint condition, without any blemishes or dents. Anyways. Station music has an ex-demo for sale at EUR2300, Gallery sells a new one at 1900 pounds. I'm asking EUR1500, so here's a chance to save a bit eh? Alternatively, I'd trade for a music man bass and some cash. The cash amount would depend on the exact music man... around 400 pounds I think?

Not being eloquent, I'll just put it short and sweet: no dicking around, everything went smooth as can be. Has excellent taste, too.

Well, it's a super jazz. Great bass, but not for me, as I prefer a different tone in sixes. Got it from k-sad in this thread It's 34" scale, 18mm spacing, really comfortable neck. Aguilar pre-amp. Slapalicious! Can also do all sorts of funky fingerstyle & jazzy tones. Cuts thru a mix really well. (Hey, maple neck & board, alder body & maple top.... Not the fullest sound around (that would be Skjold), but burpy, funky and solid) This is very much like the F-basses I've had, with a few improvements: the tone is smoother and deeper (alder is what does it I think) and this balances really well on a strap. Only six I've had, in fact, that has done this. Asking what we used as the trade value, EUR1500, or alternatively a trade for anything, really, as I'm all sorted for basses and would be selling off what I get in trade anyways. So a StingRay or Fender would be valued quite highly, as high as a thousand pounds for an easily sellable (in Finland) bass. Pinched K-sads pic, will put up my own once the skies clear.
Hi, fancy trading for an ESH Theo Pas'cal 6 string? Search the for sale forum for the info. I'm on my phone so can't paste the info. Cheers.
Thanks for the offer and your interest, but this bass is now gone pending. That ESH is really something, though!

Ya, edited the first post, as it seems to be the norm at this forum. In other places, editing the first post isn't nearly as liberal, for example the computer hardware forum I frequent, or the MESA/BOOGIE forums. Anyways, asking about a thousand pounds, but there's a trade in the works, which I'm likely to take.

It was inevitable... I found this for sale having sold some stuff here and since I'd got around to again wishing I had that Spector Sound I pulled the trigger. Well, turns out I preferred my old NS5-XL. I suppose it's the body wood as this one's got alder body wings. Defo not as aggressive as the NS5XL was. So here we have a Euro 5 LX with a rarer colour and upgraded preamp. Has vol-bal-bas-tre controls and it's the same preamp that goes into the US models. Claimed by the store, Bass Central, to be the only white Euro 5 LX with that pre-amp. Really playable, for some reason more so than the US model was? Don't know if I'm imagining things but the neck feels sleeker. The bass is in great condition, no bumps, cracks in the finish or the like. Comes with the Spector hard case. Not really looking for anything in particular, bog standard as well as freakish trade offers entertained. edit: I'll snap better pics if someone's interested. These pics are viewable in larger versions at the bass central site - for some reason they still labour under the misapprehension that they are in the possession of this bass. edit 2: Maybe a thousand pounds then? Ideally I'd keep this, but I think the odds of this selling are better than the fretless 6? This bass isn't nearly as heavy on the shoulder as all-maple Spectors are, so it's very comfy for longer sets/sessions.
Dont get me wrong, I like music. But im not someone whos mad for it. generally because all the music now-a-days is not what I like. The odd few bands are ok like Arctic Monkeys early stuff (prob cause I live in and around Sheffield) and Kings of Leon are orate. Im much more into The doors, Iggy Pop, Stone roses, Frank Sinatra, Slayer, RHCP early stuff. so cause its all old music, I dont go to festivals or watch TV music stations or radio much.
Actually I think this is in complete contradiction with being not too interested in music. I listened through 'Fugazi' and 'Misplaced Childhood' today and went 'damn, this new synth technology is really opening up new sounds 'n sh*t.' point being, it's not what happens today, even if the scale of it is unprecedented. 80% of everything is crap, right? Guess if every record in the 70's was a shining beacon of the music of the spheres? You know what you like, and John Q. Public disagrees. Well, as it happens, most players disagree with that dude. You didn't think we play 'hot stuff' and 'mustang Sally' 'coz we can't think of another tune to butcher? point being, you can find lots of young people with same interests err anyways. Slayers sh*t hot among younger guitarists around here, so if you want to start covering them, buy some tickets and get over here.
