Unibasses are big too, and i wouldnt say it was the best octave up for bass, it sounds fake too (which i like, but still)

well, the bass whammy uses the IVL chips so it sounds better than the current reissue whammy, it has the 5th up/1oct up harmony setting but doesnt have the 2oct up setting (which is sexy). If you want it and like the sound, then i reckon it's worth the money. I wouldnt buy it just to play Tool covers like a lot of people seem to do though.

I'm on the side of the Digitech whammy, it's not natural sounding, but the sound it has is bloody lovely, i love the way it sounds and i'd choose it over any other pitch shifter.

From the look of it, i group it with the DL4 as the loopers that look the easiest to use live (not compared with the really really expensive ones). I'm interested in one myself, looping is ace.
  7.
Can you not control the whammy by midi. If so you might be able to use a simple midi drum machine (assuming you could set the note values) to create an arrpregio which would sync to the tempo by using the tap button. I have been considering trying this with a rack fx unit and ableton live.
Nope, only the whammy reissue is controllable via midi, so im outta luck there.
  8. I'm always in drop D, the other guys change between standard, drop D and some capo'd stuff.
or maybe you'll realise that hysteria is not played by a bass its played by a synthesizer, not a pedal
Isn't it both? Bass and Synth.
  10. Ooh, the FM4 has a step filter? I wanted one of those anyway.
  11.
the ps-3 has a better arpegiattor
What makes it "better" though? they all sound pretty f***ed up.
  12.
Id personally wait for the ps-3. Have a read on harmony central at the reviews to help make your mind up.
See, i'm totally covered for pitch shifting at the moment - my whammy does everything i want and i love that digitised whammy sound, i only wanted the ps-2 for the arpeggiator, but now ive started looking at robotalks again... DAMN YOU G.A.S!!!!!!!!!!
  13.
the ps-2 isnt known to be as good as the ps-3 as far as range of function goes, but it is known to have a warmer sound for £38 buy it, now. but i dont think ul be able to sleep at night for robbin the seller!!!!
you reckon? i just checked eBay UK ended auctions aswell, there was about 3 PS-2's ranging from 45-50 quid ended. I'm in two minds whether to get one or not.
  14.
were do u get them from? the only place i see em is about once a month on ebay uk
How good is the arpeggiator? i've just found a ps-2 for 38 quid that i might go for!
then why do i get great sounds out of it using my own settings?
I've heard of deep impacts software going funny and them going a bit sh*t. And if yours WAS funked up, and you got great sounds on your own settings, how do you know they wouldnt be better if it wasnt fudged? not saying it is fadged up, just trying to instill some paranoia.
  16.
BassBalls - They're easy to get, you just have to know where to look. Hit me up if you want any of the PS- series. I can sort you out.
Is the arpeggiator any good on them joe? if so i might want one.
  17.
My first gig with my new amp head (db750) at the Cockpit, Leeds. I kept having to turn down.
How fat is the neck on those ATK basses? i think i want one, but im not so sure.
  18. the robotalk has the best one i've heard, but it's just such a bastard to power it - it's really put me off buying one.
  19. the robotalk has a nice step filter type thing if you're after those random arpeggiator type sounds. also the zoom506ii has a decent enough one.
  20. Hey guys, we've uploaded the whole of our 5 track EP onto myspace for a week, just before it's released. http://www.myspace.com/blueskyproject Please take a listen to all the songs and let me know what you think. Cheers, Ant.
  21.
better pic singal path Torque 30 Clean low gain ^ Musicman > SB1 > UB1 > FUZZ PROBE > 506ii > WHIZZER BIGM MUFF > MT-2 > CS100 > PS-3 > Torque 30 Effects High Gain
woo woo, gain central. 22.
But you can't.
that's about right.
  23.
With all your eq settings up to full, gotta love it. And I bet the bottom channel is your clean one, seeing as that drive is so damn low.
hehe, the top one was the "clean" one, i used to use these settings with my p bass, the channels are voiced differently and the top one sounds alot fatter than the bottom one, and if i remember correctly the bottom has more gain available (havent fiddled with it for a while) and i used to switch it in for added dist. it was never clean though, but it CAN do clean.
