  1. a Torpedo C.A.B simulator in the loop could work too, but they're massive and expensive

but could have several different settings saved for differing rigs and sounds.

    total overkill though i imagine.

if you find some sort of shelving EQ that can slope the treble off loads after a given point, please let me know

  2. i think the palmer and the mooer would be unsuitable as the speaker emulation rolloffs only happen on the XLR out,

so you wouldnt be able to apply them just to the suncoast, where as with something like the custom screaminator above, you could.

plus, with a custom option you can tune exactly which frequencies are cut, leaving the low end unaltered.

i say going with any sort of killer filter or EQ in the suncoast loop is your best bet, something tiny

  3. went on tour with a band that used one a couple of years ago, sounded cool but the string spacing is MEGA tight.

i'd like to hear one with some new pickups, maybe normal bass ones.

one thing to point out, the guy who had one was tearing his hair out trying to find replacement strings for it whilst on tour, he'd snapped one and we couldnt find a set ANYWHERE in UK or EU

I'd need at least two by the sounds of this review though, but would look ace stacked on stage

i cant see myself ever getting rid of my super15 though, i'll just tour it until it falls apart, which probably wont happen

'owner switchable' fans are not a good idea - the chances of forgetting the thing is off simply begs for trouble, imo..........

this! the fan is switchable on my power amp (demeter minnie 800d) and it went all weird and super nasty (awful distortion) on me at one gig until i realised the fan switch had been knocked, been fine ever since

  6. hang our heads in shame?! can you guys not see the arrogance in those posts? fair enough he's a top tier uber pro who has played bass at jesus' wedding, but the "im right you're wrong" attitude is bullshit, and he could've presented his opinions (which they are, not facts) in a much less condescending manner

The way I saw it was a TOP level pro was giving you a take of it.
As he said, he didn't write the rules that is the way it is...
As being amongst the very best in the business, he will have worked
with others who are the very best in their line as the aritists he works
    for can afford that..
If this is a willy waving contest..and I don't think he started that at all..
I am afraid he wins hands-down.
I think the bottom line is that some people chased away a very valuable resource..
and it isn't the first time....

Doesn't read or reflect well, IMO.

are you serious? the dude was acting incredibly arrogantly and was presenting opinions as stone cold solid facts.

this to me spells out "im a big nob"

  8. my super 15 is still the best cab ive ever used, it doesnt look as pretty as i dont cover it when its in transit, so the grille is a bit dented etc and paint and wood chips,

and i gave up putting the feet back on eventually, so it leans forward a bit

    still sounds insane though

  9. if i needed tone shaping and DI in one box, my vote would go for the Darkglass Electronics Vintage Microtubes or the Tech21 VT Bass DI (had originally written this off, but heard some more demos today and was quite shocked by how ace it sounded),

for my own needs i run a Suncoast B1P bass Preamp into a Palmer PDI-09 passive DI with speaker sim (stops the distortions sounding fizzy out front) then into my power amp and cab
