Total Watts

  1. My funeral plan allows for four tracks, which are: Entrance: Surrender To The Rhythm- Brinsley Schwarz Reflection: New Town Velocity - Johnny Marr Photo montage: I'll Feel A Whole Better When Yoùre Gone - The Byrds Leaving: C'mon Feel The Noize - Slade
  2. I've always had good service from Andertons & they've given me hefty discounts for paying by debit card, rather than credit. GuitarGuitar & Coda have been similarly impressive.
  3. I recall getting the first Fullerton reissue strats & JVs in the shop I worked in as a 14 year old. We had the JVs up for £199 & (I think) the Fullertons were about £400. Both were impossible dreams for me at the time.
  4. Intrigued as to people's best ever bargains or the gear they sold, only to see the value rocket later. I'll kick off with a 2006 purchase of a mint '84 Wal Custom from eBay for £850. I thought I was Alan Sugar when I flipped it for £1600 a week later. I was offered it back during Covid for (gulp) £7k. I also sold 2 Klon Centaurs for £215 each around 2009. They're now 20 times that price.
  5. Paul McCartney's used Hofners, a Ricky, a Jazz, a Yamaha, a Wal etc. Only 1 of them is still getting regularly gigged after 60 years & it's the only shorty. If it works, nothing else matters.
  6. Controversal opinion warning....... The Nordy Acinonyx is the most impressive new bass I've played in 40 years. It's short scale. Oh & I'd be pretty happy to have this tone as my only one too. https://youtu.be/-Qylhk6jsT0?si=iRDmdrRwgALy3kIV
  7. Magnificent basses. Can you imagine how much Yamaha would charge for one now?
  8. To be fair, these are Royal Mail failings, rather than the Post Office's.
  9. Teenage Kicks. Eulogized by the sort of psueds that make up the Later With Jools Holland audience, I could pick a dozen better songs from The Undertones.
  10. I worked in child safeguarding for 10 years, specialising in cases that hadn't resulted in a criminal conviction. In Jackson's case the evidence would easily have reached the civil threshold for proving the allegations. The case was used for training new staff in evidence evaluation.
  11. Hold up, for that to be true the other half of the population would have to be above the average, which would mean no-one was of average intelligence. That in turn would mean my school reports were all lies.
