Selling my as new BG250 combo. I'm sure everyone is aware of these amps, if not details are here; http://www.tcelectronic.com/bg250-115/ Comes with all the bits & bobs including the original shipping carton. Sounds unbelievably good, there's very little to touch it at this price point. Most places are asking £300 for this amp, mine's as new & £210 shipped in the UK mainland. Collection from Teesside is also welcome.

Hi I have this bridge for sale, taken from my Nate Mendel precision. It's effectively Fender's version of the BadAss II, fits basses with the five screw bridge with no alterations needed & adds a big dollop of sustain. Included are new screws & the allen key for the saddles. £35 inc UK postage.

Is it just me or do Gibson have a nasty habit of buying emerging bass companies & running them into the ground? I can think of Tobias, Trace Elliot & Steinberger all being bought up by the big G only to either disappear completely or become far-eastern budget instruments.

At one point I had 6 JV Precisions, this was back around 2004 when they were a £300 bass. At that sort of price it was a no-brainer, quality on a par with the US made instruments but way cheaper. These days they seem to be going for more than the American Standards, hell I've seen some people asking more than US reissues are going for. For me the hype now exceeds the intrinsic value & there's too much fairy dust/bullshit being sprinkled around. I've even seen people hyping later Jap Fenders as "made just after the JVs" - like that makes a difference. There are some killer JVs about but there are plenty that are instantly forgettable too - just like every Fender range. If I was after an 80s Jap P bass these days I would be getting a Tokai, every bit as good as the JVs but the prices have remained far more realistic.
The excessive brightness is a bit more of a concern- I am looking for a more 'modern' tone, very even in response with a broad frequency range. I have the 'warm thumper' and mid-way Fender sounds covered, so an extended response in the top end is part of the equation. However, I get the impression from comments that the sound is a little unpleasant and hard to work with. Is that the case, or is it more that the bass just isn't capable of a standard Fender tone? I may see if Mr Green is willing to wire one up straight passive- I do all my shaping outboard anyway, so if the preamp is heavily biased I could lose that and take the 9v's out of the equation too!
I would say the former. The Stealth was to be my modern sounding bass & it did sound modern but that brittleness just dominated everything, it drove me mad trying to kill it. In the end I concluded it was fundamental to the instrument & cut my loses. I think it's a bass you need to try before you buy, but that's not going to be easy. The only upside is if you buy a secondhand one you'll sell it in no time if it isn't for you. If it were my money though I'd take a Streamline every time, it is still modern sounding, has the broad frequency range & the even response but sounds better & costs less.

Hello Right, it's back up for sale as my new bass is going to be ready much sooner than initially thought. This is my 2016 Fender Nate Mendel Precision for sale. This is a super P bass, great slim neck, sounds just like a good P bass should. I'd venture that this i the best P bass Fender are currently making, played several and everyone has sounded & played great. I have made a few changes just so it wasn't like every other one out there. The scratch plate is a Rebel Relic lightly aged piece which lifts the visuals of the bass & the ageing is just about bang on. The pick up is a Bartolini 8CPB unit which is the classic Bart P bass pickup. Oh & I added the tug bar because Precisions just look cooler with one. Included is the Fender gig bag & all the bits that comes with the bass new. It's currently string with Thomastik Infeld Jazz roundwounds & the fretboard has been given a dose of Gerlitz guitar honey. No scales to weigh it but it's not a lightweight, at a guess & based on the known weight of my Dingwall I would say 9.5lbs - but don't hold me to that. Only thing of note is that the volume pot has been replaced, I found the original was cracked when the pick up change was done. the only replacement I had to hand was a split shaft - which is technically incorrect. However it works fine & the taper is good. Just being open though. These basses are now £891 (still cheaper than a Road Worn though!), the bits & bobs ran me another £149. Due to that, the price of £625 is firm. Not looking for any trades, thank you. Local collection from Teesside is welcome or I can ship at your cost / risk with UPS for £20.

I had a Stealth 4 string & sold it quite quickly, there was a harshness in the mid-range that I just couldn't e.q. out. It came to dominate everything to my ears. I subsequently bought a Streamline & that thing killed from day one, in fact I would say it is the best Status model I've played. Stupidly sold it to Outtoplayjazz of this parish & have regretted it ever since.

Freshly excised from my Nate Mendel P bass is a Seymour Duncan SPB3 pick up. It's big, it's ballsy, it's........er.....something else beginning with "b". Think old school P tone, had P tone been doing a LOT of steroids - it's not a modern sounding pickup, it's a classic rocker's delight. Includes covers but no screws or springs. £35 posted anywhere in the UK.

Right, after a lot of correspondence I have persuaded the nice people at Status to break a few rules & build me something they haven't done before. Trouble is it is going to cost, a lot. I could wack on a load of debt but that makes me nervous, so I need to sell on this wonderful Dingwall that I got from Neil Murray a couple of weeks back. It is a magnificent instrument, I love it but I just can't afford to do the Status & keep my current squeezes. The bass is as Neil described it, save for the addition of a set of Chromes. It sounds phenomenal, tight & defined, not a duff tone to be had anywhere. It plays superbly, the neck is sumptuous & the build quality as good as it gets. Comes with the Levys/Dingwall gig bag & all the tools & paperwork. I spoke to Dingwall a couple of weeks ago & they quoted me £3675 for a new build with this spec. Neil sold it to me for £1250 & that is all I am asking for it now. At the price it is the best Dingwall deal you will ever find, you can't buy a new NG2 for this. Collection from Middlesbrough welcome, I can ship though at your expense/risk. Hello I have my 2016 Fender Nate Mendel Precision for sale. This is a super P bass, great neck, sounds just like a good P bass should. I have made a few changes just so it wasn't like every other one there. The scratch plate is a Rebel Relic lightly aged piece which lifts the visuals of the bass & the wear is just about bang on. The pick up is a Bartolini 8CPB unit which is the classic Bart P bass pickup. Oh & I added the tug bar because Precisions just look cooler with one. Sale includes the original black scratch plate & Seymour Duncan QP pickup, in case you want to go back to stock. Also included is the Fender gig bag & all the bits that comes with the bass new. Due to that, the price of £675 is firm. Not looking for any trades, I'm in the process of ordering a custom build Status. Shipping is available at your expense/risk & it will be well packed.
