1. I love these. Such a great looking bass. GLWTS
2. That is gorgeous At that price I will just keep my eye on it, cuz I will never have my hands on it. GLWTS
3. I sold my ACG to Ralph Seamless sale, great way to do basschat. Fast payment and excellent communication throughout. A pleasure to do business with.
4. That's a gorgeous finish Harry.
5. Neck is 34" Asymmetric neck and very comfortable.
6.
The Gallery. Not many Foderas round these parts right enough Michael, but then if you'd asked me where the nearest Dingwall was a few years ago, Ahoghill wouldn't have been high on the list either, so you never know!
o Considering we are supposed to be tight from ballymena two dingwalls at least within 6 miles or so was pretty good. Maybe some day I will take the plunge with a fodera.
7.
I've played 3 Foderas. 2 I wouldn't have given tuppence for. The 3rd was without doubt the finest bass I've ever had hands on. The fact it cost the same as my car didn't matter. If I'd had the funds (4 grand second hand) I'd have bought it on the spot. A truly religious experience. I left the shop reeling, literally speechless. In answer to whether they're worth it I could only say... possibly...
Where did you find one Fodera in our neck of the woods, never mind three of them?
8. There's a really gorgeous dingwall sixer on ebay at the minute. If I had the money, £1400 it'd be on its way to me now,
9. My first ray was one of these and I still remember it sounding better than the real ray I got later. Thinner neck on the ray is more my thing though, enjoy.
10.
I'm guessing an awful lot of it is paying the mental New York rent on their workshop. I bet they could be half-price if they moved to some derelict sh*t hole on the outskirts of Detroit
If they moved to some place else they wouldn't be the original nyc fodera anymore. Forgive me for stating the obvious. But i do agree with you. It's an exclusive club maybe, but persons who can afford the price are not connoisseurs of taste or more discerning than the next guy. They just have the means to afford one. I'd like to see Fodera as a bucket list item for me.
11.
"not worth 10-12,000 quid for someone like me." Don't do yourself down. You're worth it.
Cheers for the encouragement. Just bein realistic. If I could get the financial planets to line up I'd probably jump and buy one but I've just bought a custom built ACG J bass and already I'm needin to sell it cuz I'm skint , totally.
12. I have never played a Fodera. I have owned £3,000 of Dingwall and it was a hugely pleasant experience but I couldn't relax with it as I was terrified of getting a dent in it. It was a totally quality bass and sounded huge, did all that I expected etc. But. I wonder does there come a point when more money doesn't buy a better bass but just looks like you've been suckered by the emperors new clothes (or bass). Fodera have the reputation of being the mutts nuts of basses, Alembic might argue they are too. But until I play one I can't comment on the playability, so I will comment on the price. Dingwall made it affordable for me to dabble in big money quality, for the equivalent Fodera I'd be paying three times that maybe. Is it really worth that? I will probably never know. This is a can of worms which will never die. Best leave it as I found it. IMHO they are desirable, but not worth 10-12,000 quid for someone like me.
13. Ask him to bring out a pedal to save several settings like the tech21 deluxe BDDI. That would make the vintage pedal perfect.
14. Patience, and a decent taste in music............ But seriously, stick at the frustrating stage when you feel as if you are getting nowhere and all of a sudden one day it will click. The biggest hurdle is getting by this point. You can buy the bass the amp the tuner the tutor but you still gotta want it. Sounds like you've got everying to get going, so all the very best on your bass journey.
15. Price or Trade Value : £995 Im in a situation where I really need some cash freed up and this is all that I can realistically let go. I'd tried to part with it a short time ago but couldn't go through with it but I've really no choice. It was a custom order for me and is only just built, it is number 166 I believe in the recently finished gallery on ACG site, spec is there too. Cost was over £1400 but I need some cash released so hence the total bargain, get a basically brand new custom bass for £995 Sounds and looks quite incredible. Comes with a gigbag. It's been played a few times at home by me and is with a gigbag. Post included in price to UK. I've attached two photos of my own to show I do actually have the bass, there's more on the acg site as Alan is a much better photographer than I am and I can't get any more uploaded for some reason. This is not what I was intending to do with this bass shortly after receiving it but I have no choice.
16.
its even nicer in the flesh
Im just up the road from you, and im sorely tempted to ask about coming to see this; but I would leave without some money I think. I really love Dingwall super Js.
17.
Thanks Bassman. Yes you're right it is German built. I of course understand..there's a part of that really doesn't want to part with this Buzzard...I've grown to love it tbh..but like so many others before me I need to sell to raise some cash...and at the same time get (yet another bass...groan)....and you're right I might just say yes . Bassists huh....what are we like
So true man, never happy with what we have. Grass might be greener etc etc.. Still love this.
18. Black Coffee

SOLD

That's a gorgeous finish. Have a bump
19. I keep looking at this and coveting. Unfortunately I don't have enough cash.
20. That's a gorgeous piece of kit. I'd offer my ACG but I'd be afraid you'd say yes and I might miss it. I've always loved these buzzards, specially the fivers. Pardon my lack of Warwick knowledge, but isn't it German built ?
