Its easier to apologise than ask for permission, usually.
But not this time as she has already placed sanctions. -
I woke planning to buy this bass shortly..
SWMBO has other plans.
Help me out. -
Sexy beast . . . . . .
-
If only this was one of the red ones. I love the shape of this.

I've actually been quite lucky when it comes to sh*t basses. I've owned a few that haven't really suited me, but actual 'bad' instruments? Only 2:
2) Musicman Stingray 5. Too light, IMO shoddily put together, blemishes in the finish, weak output and generally felt a bit toy-like. I really don't know why I didn't get on with it but it just felt alien to play; it was a single H version and was impossible to play comfortably. The body was too big and I couldn't get set on it no matter the strap height and sitting with it caused my right wrist to cramp after 5 minutes of playing. Dreadful thing. Vastly overrated in my opinion. I sold it making a profit of £200 so it wasn't all bad I suppose.

Usually view with interest everyone else's opinion but cant agree with this. You must have gotten a complete dog of a bass my friend. I've played many fivers and the second mm I owned was easily the best non boutique bass I've ever played. Mutts nuts in output and looks and weight - the whole package. It was a plain H and it was better than the mm 25th anniversary HSS I had and got rid off after two months of it. Try again maybe? -
Thanks.
Its ugly then. -
Anyone played the new dimension ?
It is cheap in a big online store . . -

A friend of mine had an 'Axe' bass that he bought from an advert in Kerrang. I borrowed it for a week in an attempt to set it up. It went back fairly quickly with a "sorry, not much I can do".
Advert is on this page: http://stuartclayton.com/about-stuart/biography/
Worst sort of budget trash from the late 1980s. Made Marlin look like a quality brand, and my Westone Concord look like a pre-CBS....

I had an axe bass. It was so bad that I wore a brown paper bag with eyeholes cut in it while playing it.
The neck bent like a bow when the strings were in tune, the bridge came away from the body in when tuned, the strap buttons kept falling out of the balsa wood crap body. Total garbage. . . . In a bass shaped bundle.
Makes me laugh though, I thought I was the mutts nuts until about two days after I bought it.
Might start a row here but could I also suggest that the three ricken****ers I had were totally useless too. Looked amazin but played like dogs. -
I'm agonising over this.

Nice colour.
-
How old is this please ?
Do you know? -
I like this . . . . . . A lot. . . . . . .
-
That's real nice.
Love the colour.
Any other five strings trades may tempt you? -

Steve is an incredible player, but I personally find Iron Maiden unlistenable, and, when I think about it, I have only known one person in my entire life who openly admits to liking their music , and I know a lot of people . I suppose lots of people out there must like it because they are without doubt one of the most enduringly successful bands ever .

I absolutely love maiden. No apologies....
Ever since hearing phantom of the opera as a teenager at school.
I am currently eyeing up a harris signature bass. Just a few quid short still -
This gets more appealing the more you look at it.
-
Are the new ones a patch on the older discontinued subs?
I haven't heard much good bout them. -
The s.u.b. 5er I had was my first ray and it was the best of both worlds then some.
Killer sound and cheap enough that I didn't care if it got a knock.
The two eq rays are the mutts nuts for me. Just wish i hadn't sold mine as it was an eBay bargain at 300 quid. Amazing price for a bass from San Luis obispo, same factory as the real McCoy.

Still tempting. . . ..
-
That looks really sweet in that finish...
Good luck with the sale, and have a bump.. -
This is a gorgeous piece of kit.
Any 5 string trade interests?? -

I once owned one of these and they are exceptionally good.
If you have the wonga its a bass you wouldn't regret buying. IMHO of course. -
I have tried to get away from owning half a dozen mid price and cheap basses and relax and get to know one very well. (Also because every room in my house was stuffed with bass stuff and was just ridiculous)
I am on a good thing at the minute with my Mike Lull TC5; but is there anything obvious Im missing that simply has all the tools in one bass that isn't gonna cost me £5,000 ? -
+1 for classic 50s MIM P bass.
I had a beauty, but like all things - it got moved on to try something else.
Easily as good as my old USA P.
Anything Mike Lull is going to be good, and theres a beauty of a P Lull on here for sale. I recently acquired a Lull TC5 jazz and its everything it says it is - quite the mutts nutts.
Seem to remember the 50s MIM cost me £279.00 new on ebay.
Listing was full of smelling pistakes and clearly didnt get the hits on searches so I got it for the starting price - bargain.
