  4. Where is locally? Edit - Actually I've possibly mused over that one, is it in Glasgow?
  5. Damnit has this forum taught you nothing man? Yes!! The answer is always yes! 😆
  6. I did six months of gigs with only a secondhand Aria STB P bass and a Behringer BDI 21, straight to PA. Total outlay £60, £70 if you include the lead. I never had any issues or worries and would happily do it again, even using the Cruiser P bass I picked up recently for £20. Spending money doesn't necessarily mean you've got gig competent gear, spending time maintaining whatever gear you've got usually does.

  8. @gobasserkThat's brilliant, thank you so much. 🙂👍
  9. It probably was my explanation that was confusing. This is what I mean, the measurement between the two white lines, to the edge of the pickup rather than the pickup ring. Hopefully it'll make more sense now. It doesn't have to be too precise. Thanks in advance.
  10. @gobasserk could you possibly measure from the 12th fret to the top edge of D/G half of the pickup on your shiny red and gold dream machine please. Just so I can best decide where to route my 424. Thanks 🙂👍

  13. It's just a bit different, and being in a Mod band it would fit. Appreciate it's not for everyone though.
  14. I've been having lustful thoughts about a tort scratchplate on my Jack Casady (Pelham blue). I saw a similar coloured Gretsch guitar with cream binding and a tort scratchplate and it looked awesome.
  15. This on my 424 would look great I think.
  16. There's a seller on ebay/etsy in Canada that does plates in a lovely black paisley on a beige background. I was going to message and see if they have the sheets of it or just buy in the plates.
  17. It definitely has a blue hue to it. I never used to like pearloid but I've lately started to come round to it. I think it can look terrible but the right colour on the right guitar looks great. Hell I even like pearl mint green now.
  18. Well black pearl has gone from, 'Might look quite good', to, 'Nah, everyone's doing it' pretty quick. 😁
