In case you haven't ventured into the BB mega thread. My BB424X that I've just reversed the P pickup on. I'm really, really enjoying this bass at the moment.

My Jack Casady from a few months ago, on unboxing day. I realised it was a perfect match for the cushions in the garden. 😄 Then I went on the hunt for a strap and found a perfect match a Canadian company, Perri's.

Squier Bronco is 17mm at the bridge. It's a two saddle, not four though so intonation can be a compromise. But it does has a Fender look to it.

Ah, why didn't I realise? That's exactly what it is! The darker wood is obviously more dense and used on that side to accentuate the higher frequencies of the treble strings. These Kays really were ahead of their time. 😄

I have considered that but don't know if I could get a close enough match. Part of me thinks just darkening it to whatever shade it ends up would be a better visual balance, but the other part of me thinks it's part of the bass' charm and should be enjoyed for it's wonkiness. Another part of me thinks I need to stop waffling shite. 😉

Oh yeah, and I still can't get my head around who decided not to put that dark strip in the middle. 🙄😁
