  1. Yes!! Thanks Ped, obligatory pictures later. 🙂👍
  2. Haha, no. I've still not not seen his GT but I have had a substantial pay rise. Ha who's the winner now then! Oh yeah, probobaly still him I reckon 😄. Anyway enough of this nonsense, the postman's here. THE POSTMAN'S HERE!!
  3. My boss actual has a Ford GT. On the same day as the meeting where we were told there would still be no pay rise after the last one nine years ago, we were invited to go and see his new GT when it arrived. Talk about sticking the knife in.
  4. It's like faded Gulf racing colours. I like it. https://images.app.goo.gl/Xgxudw79Apbqnj5y6
  5. Couldn't remember Andy Serkis' name so looked him up he was raised in Ruislip and Ian Dury in Harrow so they both grew up in similar areas. That may have helped in getting the performance so good.
  6. Did you notice the Ashdown 4x10 cab with blueline speakers in the room where Ian came up with Spasticus Autisticus? Was that an error that only bass nerds would notice or have they actually been around that long? Can't think of the actors name but he was brilliant as Ian Dury I thought.
  7. They would be like Wookie sandwiches............ ........ a bit chewy.
  8. I used to like your jokes but............... ........... you've changed!
  9. The postman's here. THE POSTMAN'S HERE!!
  10. I had to nip out yesterday and as I drove up the road from my house the postman pulled in behind me to deliver to my row. I stopped the car in the road and called back to him, "Have you got anything for me?" He didn't. Why am I so excited? 😂
  11. Excuse me! I'm quite capable of buying crap all year round, thank you very much! 😁
  12. I got KiOgon to make me a rotary switch for my bass with a single, passive MM pickup (basically the same as yours @stewblack) that switches through four positions, single bridge coil, both coils parallel, both coils series, single neck coil. So I have volume, tone and the rotary switch. As @Dad3353 says, think of the pickup as a pair of single coils mounted next to each other.
  13. I wonder if the lack of live music has had a knock on effect on amp/cab sales, there's only so much volume you need at home. Maybe there'll be some good deals to get some stock shifted.
  14. He's actually (looks over shoulder to make sure he can't hear) the best drummer I've played with, used to do session work around London, and told Nick Heyward his band was gay when he wanted him for Haircut 100. He was in both my bands but had a heart attack earlier in the year and has had to quit the Mod/Ska band. We were telepathic with each other and I'm now at that point were you realise you'll probably never find that special drummer again.
  15. Meh, was it fingers, was it a plectrum, can he play it with fingers? Of course he can. 🙂 In my acoustic band the rhythm section is doublebass and cajon and we play it fine. Not a slowed down, warbly vocal version, but a full speed version. In fact due drummer's usual over enthusiasm syndrome we do it faster than the recording quite often. Dont get me wrong, it's a workout but that syncopated feel is fun to play bouncing off doublebass strings, an the audience love it.
  16. There was a good documentary on the 808 on either Netflix or Amazon Prime, can't remember which.
  17. That's fine and a decent price, but Candy isn't Sparkle, and a lot of the time Candy Apple Red isn't a true Candy anymore, just a nice deep red pearl. But I'm not going any further, I've given my advice.
