  1. It looks similar to Shipley and the like. Just a go between for a bunch of independent 'mans with vans' who bid for your custom. What service you receive depends on which 'man with van' you go with. Not necessarily a bad thing as most drivers who operate through Shipley treat items a lot better than most of the big couriers.
  2. There's a red one been on facebook for quite a while now, down to £780, dont know if it's sold and an old advert or not. It's in Liverpool. I'd considered picking it up on a recent trip to Scotland and selling my Fac51 but never got around to messaging.

    Orba 2

I see that Donner have released a competitor to the Orba, the Medo. I don't know if it's different at all or just a reverse engineered Orba clone. Apparently $149 kickstarter price then it will $299 which seems pricey compared to the orba, especially if it doesn't do anything different. Can't find a UK price right now.

  5. I had a pink Saint prototype. It had faults but it was a prototype and had been used as a demo at an open weekend so I can forgive those, but it went back as it just sounded so meh. The actual bass itself was lovely though, very nice feeling neck and the colour was far better in the flesh. I'm tempted by the shortscale with the single humbucker, I bet that would sound lovely. Link to prototype NBD thread if interested.
  6. You're probably not in the minority and I suspect there's a number of members who will just slip quietly away.
  7. They're all horrible! Sorry, not a lot of help I realise. I find all 'acoustic' bass strings really noisy, lots of fret clatter and string squeal when moving around. You can fit any type of string to an acoustic, I use Fender tapewounds. You may sacrifice some volume but I find the tone is greatly improved over any 'acoustic' strings.
