  1. It has to be bought through PayPal, I guess ebay and PayPal soak up the loss.
  2. It's on the ebay homepage, shame it wasn't there four hours ago.
  3. Pants! I've just spend £200 this morning.
  4. Yep, I've had one delivered in a black bin bag, nothing else. It was only a cheapy Aria Jazz but even so. It did make undamaged though.
  5. Don't forget your hat! Oh come on, someone had to
  6. I don't think that matters Blue. If you are able to, in whatever capacity, and want to, then do it. There is no too old for anything, if fit and willing.
  7. Just bought a wood fronted one from him, less than £200 all in. I messaged him and it has no faults at all, just displayed in a shop window which closed down. I know someone said get a double four but at nearly £500 plus the gear to make it Bluetooth and wireless instrument compatible I think we're getting way out of the the £200 market. At this price I could bang it out second hand and not lose. Building a garden room in the spring and this will be perfect for in there as a wireless stereo/amp. Thanks for the heads up.
  8. Exactly this. I really don't like the cliché, 'Age is just a number', but it is true. I'll do whatever I feel like doing for as long as I feel like it. Life's too short to be constrained by some bizarre time counting system someone felt the need to dream up centuries ago.
  9. Post it up on Shiply, private 'man with a van' type courier. Insured , unlike most large companies even though they take your money, doesn't go through handling depots so far less chance of damage. A man will collect it, carefully put it in his van and take it where you need. I've used a couple and they've always been fairly priced and excellent service. Example, £30 to bring a bicycle from Bognor Regis down to Cornwall.
  10. I know that Taunton Hobbit, but this is the most excitement I've had in ages, now move along Killjoy
  11. Don't go charging in with a fistful of dollars just yet, hold your ground, be patient and don't back down. I reckon you'll get that for £24 if you play it right.
  12. I've got a feeling a shop is under no obligation to sell you anything if they don't want to. Could be wrong though.
  13. I've had the confirmation email, I'll await the cancellation one.
  14. I don't honestly know, but unlike a shop where you can see the physical item, all G4M have to do is email me saying they run out and cancel my order. Wether they have to honour it once back in stock I've no idea. Maybe they can say they had ten at the promotional price and they all sold, who knows.
  15. Couldn't decide on black or sunburst, so I got one of each It'll be cancelled anyway I expect but if not, in the words of the late Keith Chegwin, "Whey hay!!"
  16. How about something hollow? Danelectro do long and shortscale, a shortscale my help back pain by not needing to stretch as far. My Longhorn has a good range of sounds and very light. Also a violin/beatle style bass if that's your thing.
  17. Oh, my word I see Mani's 4005 has been reduced by three grand, two more reductions like that and I could take a punt on it.
  18. I've only bought one album that was actually released this year. Last week I bought 'Villains' by Queens of the Stone Age and am quite enjoying it, 100% QOTSA but a hint of Gary Numan and Dead Kennedys in places, which is no bad thing, and the single 'The Way You Used To Do' is rediculously catchy.
  19. What sort of music do you play?
  20. Currently learning 'The Real Me' by The Who. At first it seems like 90% fills, it's one of the trickiest I've had to learn but I'm getting there. Someone mentioned Rio, in my acoustic band I have to do that one on doublebass
  21. A Ricky 4005 is one of the few basses I covet but they are crazy money, IMO. I can't see this being less than five grand. Although all my family are doing the whole "we don't know what to get you for Christmas" thing. When's the auction
  22. Thanks for the reply JimBob, if I do decide to get something I'll go for maple then I think, save a load of hassle.
  23. Slightly off topic, sorry. Would I need to go through this if I were to buy a bass from China? Thinking about buying something from Ali Express as a base for extensive modding but don't want to go through this palaver.
  24. Should've looked back, their best stuff came before that
