  1. See if there's any specialist radio shows (airwaves or internet) that play your style of music and send it to them. There's a radio station in Stoke On Trent (we're in Cornwall/Devon) that plays us sometimes on their Sunday night Mod show. Before Christmas they did a little feature and played five in a row and we were getting calls for gigs in Scarborough, Essex, all over, unfortunately we're not playing at the mo. If you're lucky you might be able to get a little tour together.
  2. My Favourite Things - Julie Andrews
  3. The Choker - Steve Miller Band (Ed's brother)
  4. I'm in the Cornwall, albeit the other end to Penzance, and everywhere is a long way from here. Very interesting to have Hannah Sedgewick brought to my attention as my Gedo bass, bought new ten years ago, has never had a real set up. I lowered the nut slots and have an adjustable bridge so it plays nicely but I think the sound post is too tight as it now has a slight hump in the back where it sits. Although I'm happy with how it plays I'm sure a set up would improve it somewhat.
  5. Wasn't there an issue post brexit with Eurosender operating in the UK, being based in the EU or something? I used them a couple of times previously and was very happy, fully insured and was only around £12 for halfway across England.
  6. As with the Stones or Beatles question with the answer being The Kinks, the answer to Oasis or Blur was always Pulp. Sad news indeed. 😔
  7. Who Are You - The Who. Who? Yes. Oh yes. No, The Who. What? Not what, Who. What? Oh f**k off!
  8. With a bit more thought and effort Fender could probably make a half decent BB copy. 😉
  9. I have a few signatures but only because I wanted that actual bass, if I like the bassist associated then that's a bonus. The four signature basses I own are different enough from anything else that you can only buy them in that signature guise, ie not just a P bass in a different colour. Epiphone Jack Casady Yamaha Attitude Ltd II Yamaha BB Peter Hook (BB1200S is close but rare) Eastwood Hooky Pro 6 (same as Shergold Marathon 6 but they're crazy rare) Weirdly, or not, just liking the associated bassist wouldn't make me buy the bass but not liking the bassist would certainly stop me buying the bass even if I really liked it. I just wouldn't want that association. Even though its not a signature model the Hofner Violin bass has such an association with Macca it made me buy a Club bass, and in black as the sunburst still looks too Macca. I just didn't want everyone going, "Paul McCartney eh?" every time I played it.
  10. Is this the Trav Panini BB sticker album? Got... got... got... want... got. 😆
  11. I suppose it depends what you're used to, but walking to gigs or using public transport is highly unlikely. Both my bands straddle the Devon/Cornwall border and when we were gigging we regularly travelled the entire length of Cornwall and up to Exeter, Torquay, Teignmouth, Exmouth, etc. Exeter was always a good crowd, my avatar is in The Cavern in Exeter. From the amount you've said you'll to gig you should be fine, but expect to do some travelling to Torquay, Plymouth to pull in the gigs as well as Exeter. I'm happy to travel but we had an enquiry last week asking how much to gig in Skegness, erm yeah, won't be happening. 😄 Good luck if you choose to move.
  12. The Emperor's New Clothes - Sinead O'Connor
  13. Push It by Salt 'n' Pepa pumping through the PA from a doublebass does the trick.
