  1. Little bit of a late starter. 21, in a band called The Bobblehats at The Buccaneer in Gunnislake, Cornwall. A fantastic, distorted, ear shattering riot that saw us banned from ever playing there again. ๐Ÿ˜‚
  2. And then managed to get Hooky to sign the control cover from my BBPH and the pickguard from my Eastwood Hooky 6 Fac51 edition. Most definitely chuffed.
  3. Having a couple of pints at the hotel before wandering over the road to see Hooky. Much Yamaha and Shergold bass action awaits. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  4. Scrub that, I think it was 19mm at the bridge.
  5. I had a Yamaha BBG5S which fits all the criteria apart from possibly the weight. Absolutely fantastic bass for not very much money. I'm sure there's other Yamahas that fit the bill too.
  6. Going to see Peter Hook and The Light on Saturday and then Albert Lee in three weeks. Variety is the spice of life apparently.
  7. I have a Kimbara Ripper. It's definitely above average build quality wise for the time and it's not overly heavy, big body but not very thick. It plays really nicely with that comfy, worn in feel that you don't get with a new bass. That may be physical but may equally be psychological. Mojo eh?
  8. Hash Pipe - Weezer Beaten to it, but it still works depending on your outlook.
  9. All Tangled Up In You - The Mission
  10. Eighties - Killing Joke
  11. Double post, I said double post!
  12. I used to work in a place that had a fella that was the absolute spit of Ned Flanders (The Simpsons), I mean he was more Ned Flanders than Ned Flanders. Anyway he was a bit useless and I used to help him out a lot, to the point I was known as his beach. This is the motor trade so banter rather than nastiness. My surname is Maunder and Ned's wife is called Maude so that became my name there. It stuck and I've used it online ever since.
  13. 'Beyond Terrible'. Thank you, that's gone straight into my possible band names bank.
  14. I paid ยฃ1500 for my car five years ago. It does everything I want it to do. Some people spend ยฃ150,000 on cars and they're badly built, barely driveable, and they crash them. Horses for courses. If you want and you can, you do.
  15. Clevor Trevor - Ian Dury
  16. Where Did Our Love Go - Soft Cell (less obvious ๐Ÿ˜‰)
  17. I don't know the answer to your problem but WOW! ยฃ81 from Bax at the mo for the Hot Rod P. What a price and what a looker. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘
  18. @ash, that is fantastic. Very jealous. In other news, I've just seen this on the facebook bass vi group (from talkbass) which is interesting. An Ibanez Talman TMB35 converted to six string. The string spacing looks much better than the majority of factory bass vi's, and the pickups will sound like a bass. A bass players bass vi rather than a guitar players. Oh yeah forget the link ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜ https://www.talkbass.com/threads/ibanez-talman-bass-vi-reduced.1599861/
  19. I realise this doesn't answer your question but it might be an alternative, or suitable for others. I've recently bought a Nux Mighty Plug and it is now my go to practice tool as it's just so convenient. Plug it into my bass, short headphone lead plugged into it and I'm completely untethered. You can bluetooth your music source to it and there's an app to set up presets containing amp, cab and effects sims. USB rechargeable and lasts a good amount of time. As I said, not the answer to your question but possibly a cheap alternative. This it, bass, Nux, headphones. Can't wait for summer garden noodling. ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘
  20. Mint Car - The Cure
  21. Those straps always make me fearful of popping a nut out mid gig.
  22. Stranglehold - UK Subs
  23. Seems to me like the perfect place to mount the pair of aerials for a theramin.
  24. Living on the Ceiling - Blancmange
