  1. If you're a pick player then they actually work great as a hand rest I find, but to me as a mainly finger player they're just sheer annoyance. Bordering on dangerous the way I flail around. 😁
  2. Aaah ha ha ha, you've got to love RIC. Probably the single most annoying thing on a 4003, and generally gets removed the quickest, is the pickup cover. So they just go f*** it, we'll put two on. Why not just put a complete sleeve from bridge to neck and tell you're not allowed to play it? 😄 And I like Ricks.
  3. Superglue to stick the cut together and you can then make a superglue 'patch' over the top to protect the cut. If that is still sore, or it's makes a horrible noise on the strings you can get doublebass finger tape. I've got some for blisters when playing doublebasses but have used it for a cut whilst gigging electric. It makes a more natural flesh sound on the strings than hard superglue. It's designed not to bleed sticky glue out the sides so won't make a mess of your strings. Here you go.
  4. Congratulations Blue. Whether or not you win, you must be doing it right to be nominated in the first place. Fingers crossed for you. 🤞🙂👍
  5. Sid Sings is the swastika guitar neck label but sadly no poster inside.
  6. A quick update. A new chap has started at work who is a huge John Lydon fan/collector. His prized possession is an original Vivian Westwood/Seditionaries cheesecloth 'Destroy' shirt he had framed. He wants all the Sex Pistols/PiL records I've got so I've started properly researching. From the few I've looked up it seems that the owner was a collector of rare editions rather than just the actual music. Never Mind The Bollocks is a first UK pressing. No track listing on rear but 12 tracks on the disc, etched V2086 A-5 B-8 on runout. They couldn't decide on 11 or 12 tracks so Branson printed the sleeves with no track listing. 1000 were pressed as 11 track but then they decided to add Submission. Rather than waste the 1000 they added a poster and a single and sold them in France (I think, it's all very murky). Then the 12 track was released in the UK still using up the blank pink backed sleeves. I've looked up some others but only ebay pricing, usually ambitious at best. Special AKA, Too Much Too Young 7", first pressing on Two Tone £60. Metallica, Master Of Puppets picture disc (pre barcode rear) £145 Lots more to research but most seem to be first pressings on the original labels so a serious collection rather than just music he liked. Now I know this I need to look closer at the stuff like Michael Jackson and The Beatles that's in there. The Gaye Bikers On Acid picture disc has the original yellow shaped plastic sleeve, poster and sticker so will need looking into. Another has a banned cover. At least all the Pistols/PiL stuff can go to another fan which would've pleased Hunter, whose collection this was, as he had Anarchy in the UK played at his funeral.
  7. To read any shared codes I could mirror screen to the TV then scan with phone. Where there's a will there's a way. 😁👍
  8. Now ya tell me! 😄 Although I'm one of those that only uses a phone for everything, don't own a computer. It's easy to share a QR code but not so easy scan one.
  9. I don't know your dad but just wanted to send my regards to both of you. My mother in law now has dementia, brought on by having parkinsons, so I know difficult and heartbreaking it can be. It's nice to read the positive impact your dad has had on the bass world so thank you. Just keep on keeping on and make the most of what you have together. Best wishes, Allan.
  10. I'm still loving this little device, it's just so convenient. I've set up a patch for fretless, kind of inspired by the bass on Pink Floyd's 'Hey You'. Yes I've put chorus on but it's more overdriven growl than shimmery chorus. It sounds great with my old fretless BB with flats. If you play a fretless give it a go and see what you think. Here's what I've used.
  11. Offshore Banking Business - The Members
  12. It's on the radio now. Candi Staton, You Got The Love. "I can't believe I caught her masturbating you". 😯
  13. Steamy Windows - Tina Turnip (terrible song)
  14. Fender tapewounds. Strangely very bright for tapes so keep a decent level of clarity without any finger noise. Are most tapewounds a tape wrap over a flatwound string, as the Fenders are tape over a roundwound string? You can feel the round wire ridges but they're not grabby at all, almost slippery.
  15. Don't do drugs kids... mmkay.
