Hi all, Like a sucker I've just fallen for some targeted advertising. I saw that nearly all Donner effects pedals were on sale at £25 a pop. No idea if they're any good but I've just bought the Pad 100. Yes it's aimed at guitarist but multi effects, amp & cab simulation, drum machine, tuner, line in and battery power (among other stuff) makes it a perfect little noodling in the garden tool. All for £25 and free postage. I'm not expecting much so we'll see what it's like. Forgot to mention it has SVT amp and Markbass cab simulation so can't be all bad.

I'd seen the Thunderstruck one before, but not the others. 👍 For folks that prefer a more R&B/Hip Hop vibe there's this one.

Pretty much as James said, but I think I'd definitely slacken the strings a bit to be safe. But not so much that the bridge loses it position, you'll have a whole lot of annoying intonation work to do else.

I just can't play with light strings. Well I can if I had to but blah blah blah. My tone is heavy strings plucked hard. I just seem to lose 'my tone' when I play lightly with light strings. As has been mentioned early in this thread, they don't seem to bounce and I find it much harder work to play fast without digging in. I can still dig in and rattle them off the frets if needed, softly for a mellow tone, or just normally (for me). I dare say I could adjust over time but heavy strings played hard give me a real solid tone, and as they say, if it ain't broke.
