SP and PiL picture discs are prohibited from sale as well. I don't know why.

@BigRedX, I've just tried to search for a couple and there are about fifty versions of Nevermind The Bollocks. A few other ones listed are banned from sale on there, good old Sex Pistols 😄.

Just had a look on Discogs, the white label PiL one is in the wrong sleeve, I have the correct purple sleeve with a different 12" version in. It says £40/£50. Exactly why I didn't want to just offload it all to a local record shop. Thanks @joeystrange. 🙂👍

I've been left a couple of cases full of records. It's mostly 70s punk and 80s post punk, centred mainly around anything Sex Pistols/PiL related. I'm not sure I want to keep it but don't want to just give it away if there's something valuable lurking in amongst it. What's the best way of finding out what's rare and what's not? Several 12" singles as well, mainly PiL and Gaye Bikers Here's a sample of some of it. Picture discs, the GBOA one still has the poster and sticker inside, and is bright green, the sleeve is orange. The punk collection has a little sticker next to the price sticker which says 'very rare'? 12" white label PiL 'The Body'. Any ideas or help appreciated. 🙂👍

Didn't the Boomtown Rats bassist use a Kramer? I remember the headstock from Rat Trap on TOTP years ago.

The seller probably doesn't even them. Buy from Thomann, photograph at home, and return to Thomann free of charge. List on ebay for free. If someone does actually buy one, then just order from Thomann again and get it sent straight to buyers house.

I had the space so went mad 760 mm deep by just over 4m long. It's actually two plain fire doors screwed down to a frame. The doors are pretty solid and plenty firm enough for my needs. I made it quite tall as I hate stooping over, I have a large standard height desk on another wall if I need a lower workspace. It sounds nice having around 5.5 metres of workbench, but I have about a metre of workbench at the moment and 4.5 metres of clutter. One thing I missed out on which I didn't even know I needed, but since seeing it know I do, was an old architect/artwork chest of drawers, the sort you used to see in schools. The drawers are massive but shallow, perfect for bass project in each drawer. It was only £50 but I was too slow. Any others I've seen have been stupid money.

If I hadn't bought so much lately I'd be very tempted. I liked the blue they did them in but they haven't got that anyway.

The fretboard is now the big let down. I'll give the frets a level and polish, and might look at dyeing the board black to look like ebony. It's already very dark and I've a feeling it's a cheap wood dyed black originally. I'll look at it in the daylight tomorrow, I think we get some between about half twelve and one at the moment. 😉 If I'd had time before leaving my last job I'd have prepped the fretboard and dyed it black, polished up the brass fretmarkers and lacquered the whole thing. It would've kept the markers nice and shiny and looked quite good as well I reckon.

Well well well, impatience rears it's ugly head. In an ideal world this, as mentioned above, would get another couple of coats of lacquer. But I'm home and want to finish it. I flatted as much as I dared and then infilled any little low spots with superglue. Superglue polishes up nicely and it was mainly along the borders between differing woods that needed filling. In certain light you can just see the difference between lacquer and superglue, but as it's over woodgrain, not a solid colour, it's very difficult to see unless you know what you're looking for. A, you can barely see it. B, it's an old Kay that was free. C, I need to stop being so fussy. 😁 Now the body/neck is done I need to do something to stabilise those pickup casings. More superglue I expect, or some black resin, depends what I've got at home. I've got a Wilkinson bridge with brass ferrules in my parts box which will suit and a set of gold speed knobs. I'm sure I've got enough spare looms to be able to renew the wiring and pots as well. The TRC and nut have been polished and lacquered. Just the neck and frets to sort then. Horrible indoor lighting photos.
