1.
I'm with you all the way
I'm in the process of saving and flogging off , to get a yellow Status.

Headed 4 string Stealth - black hardware - and all yellow . I mean everything .
One piece graphite bass - spray the lot - even pick ups .
Will cost a bit more (so Rob informed me a few years ago , and I got the impression that he wasn't too keen)
Just thought it'll be a bit different , though after watching an old Top Gear , where they had 3 supercars on a road trip (yellow , orange and green) , any of these colours may also be different .
Any of these 3 colours would be great and they're the same as on my kid's duplo (lego) bricks .
Yeah yellow - bring it on :)
Like this I suppose.....

  2. Aside from the sterling advice already given, the only nugget I would offer would be to check, if you don't already know, if the person booking you is actually going to be there for the event. Have had experiences in the past of being booked for a corporate event by someone that works for the company, then find they've taken the day off/ been on a course all day so aren't in attendance and then having the half time dress down and the cries of " do you do any ABBA?"

But if you go out and try to entertain the suits, you should be fine.

  3. Good luck with the sale Gaf, a fine chap and a pair of decent basses. Bizarrely, when I bought the Aria, the seller said it was an Elite II but when I ran it past some Aria fans who know their stuff, I was told it was an R-80 although I think I've read somewhere that the two models are virtually the same instrument.....weird!

    All the best mate.

  4.
Mr Mike B - I see one slipped through the net and has made it's way to you before going up to the Midlands... so... come on, some new pics :)
What do you mean 'before going up to the Midlands', it won't be going up there, not in my lifetime anyway.

  5.
You see. All the Allevas (and GBs) come home to the midlands in the end...
Yet again Russ, you get it so wrong......

  6.
I love depping! I like the challenge of learning all this new stuff at short notice, without all the politics of being "in" the band.
Don't wory about the punters, or the full time band members, just concentrate on being better than their usual bass player! :brow:
You obviously don't rely on their bass player for much work then...?
