1. 1 nearly new set of 760FL 104-43 flats, they have had around 2 hrs use and are cut for a 4 in a row 34" scale bass. They have been fitted to my Lull P4. Great sounding and really nice tension (not over tight like the FS set) Selling as I just love Sunbeams instead😎 £20 posted to a UK address
2. Marc Vanderkley makes one... I tried one in the shop and it wasn't for me but some folks love it.
3. The earlier cabs were 27kg, Marc is using lighter wood now. I am not sure whether this is one of the earlier cabs or not I know that the 2016 cab that I had was 24kg
4. There is a second hand 410 at Bass direct at the moment...
5. If you like tight low end the the 210 seems to be voiced a little tighter...
6. This cab does not rumble, it is deep yet accurate. Can't say I ever struggled to get a good live sound, it was lush. I have not played the Glock but did own a HS410 for a while. That was an awesome cab, quite old school compared to the 410LNT which is voiced quite modern. The HS410 is that tight in the low end that it gets compared to sealed cabs.
7. I owned and gigged one for a while. My reflections are.., Very loud (way more than I would ever need) Very detailed accurate sound Very deep low end Very musical tweeter that can be adjusted to taste Beautifully made faultless build quality Weighs 24kg and handles 1000 watts My Magellan 800 didn't ever seem to unsettle it Simply the best 410 I have ever used.
8. I played through one today, the tone was jaw dropping
9.
The Genzler Magellan is about £650, goes down to 2.67 ohms (that'd be three 8 ohms cabs, or a 4 and an 8), and the channels and filters are fantastic for versatility. Uses one of the newer Class D power modules (AFAIK not the older one in the TH500), if that is something you're concerned about, rather than what it actually sounds like, but I can highly recommend it. It's a very very responsive amp, with a 'feel' to the notes. I've a longer review of it on here somewhere.
+1 very impressive amp
10.
Probably behind the Hilton on Park Lane!
Naughty 😁
11. Second hand puma 500 with gig bag at Bass Direct £450... Very nice amp
12. These cabs are the biz!
13. The NV115 cab is an awesome piece of kit if you want a fat finger style tone. The midrange is extremely musical and for me is a much nicer option than a tweeter. The cab handles the low B really well despite what Ken on TB says, it is fat deep and punchy without being over extended and boomy. You will need a good amp to drive it due to its relatively low efficiency compared to many modern ported cabs. I run mine with a Magellan 800 at 8ohm and it is way louder than I will ever need. The only other thing to mention is the weight, it has a ceramic driver and good thick Birch cabinet, so it is no light weight... But it is worth it!
14. Demontfort hall 2000 ish, nice venue👍
15. Lovely bass congrats. I had the same surprise as you when I picked up a Lull for the first time... Ridiculously light👍
16. For that kind of money the Lull is a safe bet, they are constantly light, play fast, well balanced and well put together.
17. I saw you playing this bass at New wine with Bill Ding and the Skyscrapers... It sounds awesome, and your playing is pretty savage too!! I was actually inspired to go and learn some new material after hearing you... Thanks👍
18. Stunning! These basses are the real deal, I have the same bass but a little road worn lol!
19.
I used to run a 212 Berg cab with a TH500 and the Gain was at 12 o'clock and the Master would be on 11 - 12 o'clock. I'm now running 2 BF Super Compacts and the Master is on 9 o'clock to get the same volume. My point is that the BF's give you more SPL for your watts, so I'd suggest you add the BF Four10 to your list.
Chris_b, apart from spl what tonal properties would the Barefaced bring in comparison to the Bergs and the Vanderkley? Have you had chance to do a comparison? I appreciate that the B/F is a newish cab so you may not have had chance yet. If anyone would like to do a comparison I am happy to pitch up with the Vanderkley and some ear defenders😁
20. It really depends on which Bergantino 410 you are looking at. I have either owned or played through them all with the exception of the HDN. HD/HS 410 -tight low end with lots of low mid punch, present but not bright up top, very loud and quite heavy to move CN410 - thinner and less muscular sounding than the ceramic cabs, nicer to move around HDN410 - I have not tried one of these but they are supposed to sound very much like the HS/HD cabs and are a lot lighter. Vanderkley 410LNT - fuller and deeper than any of the Bergs, lots of top end sizzle if you want it. Very punchy and extremely loud. 1200 watt rating and from the way it sounds that is pretty conservative. Very light @24kg and a breeze to move around. I now use one of these for everything whether it is home, rehearsal or gigs. I use mine with a Magellan 800 and it is easily the best rig I have ever heard or used.
21. That is a ridiculous price for such amazing cabs. Marc Vanderkley makes some of the very best gear available, can't believe they are still here. glwts
22.
I'm curious how the 410LNT is easier to move than the CN212, it's slightly heavier and shape-wise is bigger and bulkier.
For me it is about how I lift the cab into the back of the car. The CN212 is taller than the LNT and I found myself having to lift and twist to get it in there which was really starting to hurt my back. The LNT just lifts straight in due to its squatter shape. I am sure that for others this may not be an issue but for me it really is, the CN is still a great cab but practically the height doesn't work for me with the lift. I tried 2x CN112 but couldn't get on with them so I tried the Vanderkley which I really liked. Are you still loving your CN212?
23. Gramma pad?
24.
Ended up getting a Vanderkley 410 combined with a Glockenklang Blue Sky. Sounds incredible. Thank you all for your comments.
Great choice, i think I would really like that combination. I am kind of temped by the Blue Rock...
25. Vanderkley all the way... Get the 410, it is a lightweight hand built tone monster.
