I was always a Berg guy and have owned a couple of their 410's plus many of their 12" cab combinations but not the HDN, I now have the Vanderkley and would not want to go back. If the HDN410 is as close to the HD410 as people say then the Vanderkley is deeper clearer and louder. That is certainly my impression based on owning and gigging an HS410 and test driving an HD410, those cabs have a very tight low end, the Vanderkley sounds way deeper but still very controlled. Have not tried the EBS.
Haha! You can have the MNTs then, and Largo can buy something completely different
Lol! I would just buy two we ones, my GAS is cured though😋
Keep the Vanderkleys and send me the One10s
Strange... I nearly posted keep the BF and send me the MNT's🤓

It is always nice to have more cab than you need. I don't need my 410LNT but it produces depth and punch that smaller cabs cannot. Previously I always played through p/a using my rig purely for monitoring, but now I have some gigs without p/a and the extra beef really comes in handy. Having gone through £££££ of gear I have drawn the conclusion that with cabs bigger is better (for me anyway).

The Magellan will do what you need very well, it goes from wide clean to fat mids to a nice distorted sound, the Aurora is a clean machine but sounds incredible. Have not tried the other amps so can't comment. I have the Magellan paired with the Vanderkley 410LNT and it kills. 1/4 volume is even too much sometimes. The 410 LNT is the best cab I have ever played through, and it is a breeze to move around-easier than a CN212!

Not EBS but having recently moved to a Vanderkley 410LNT which is only 24kg in weight I was shocked at the depth and punch compared to my Berg 212 set up. 410 it is for me now👍
On the other hand, there are still enthusiasts for steam trains and vintage motorcycles. Modern progress does not have to sweep quite so clean; there is a place for sentiment and nostalgia.
I totally agree however whether something remains in mainstream usage or not is another matter. I used to love driving my TR6 but compared to my SMax it was uncomfortable noisy, leaked, went rusty... I would never use it for day to day use now as the modern technology makes things so much easier.
That is not why I play music. If I want to be playing over headphones, I use a Vox Amplug but playing live I like to "hear". I would not buy Martin or Taylor without a sound hole so why use a bass without an amp/speaker, if only for your own monitoring.
Have you ever used custom IEM's such as 1964's or UE's? Through a decent system it is not really comparable to the vox amplug. Why do you think most pro players use them on stage? Amps on stage are starting to become a thing of the past with some venues in the USA even banning them completely. Like it or not live sound is evolving.

Hey guys I have decided not to attend as I am signing off of the forum permenantly. Hope you have a great time!

I think if Jamerson were alive and still gigging he would be using IEM's and a DI box. That is the way forward, and no matter how light or loud your cab is the gigs where you can rock up with a bass and your IEMs are by far the easiest imo.

I have gigged both the 112mnt stack and the Berg hd212 and am currently gigging the Cn112 stack. The Vanderkley 112mnt is an amazing cab that will take all you can give it even on the low B, it is a very deep sounding cab with sparkly sweet high end and a great clear but warm midrange. The HD112 doesn't sound quite as deep to my ears but sounds fatter in the low mid with quite a polite upper midrange and a nice treble response. For rock and blues the HD would be my choice, a pair would really hammer with a good amp. The 112mnt will still rock hard but my impression was that it was better for jazz funk and slap. The CN112 is also really nice and has quite a tight low end and the weight saving to me was worth it! You would not go wrong with either, both are beautifully made and sound great.
Was there ever more than one report of this happening? Because to keep harping on about an issue that cropped up with one cab and was apparently resolved with a change of material seven years ago seems a bit ridiculous.
I will have you know that nearly bought one on the basis of that, I thought it would look great under disco lights.
So what's the difference? Why make that sort of comment when it's Barefaced but not when it's any other company? I'd really like to know, because the general anti-Barefaced stuff that always gets posted whenever anyone ever mentions the 'B' word is frankly baffling and I just don't get it.
I am a life long fan of BF, I just don't buy the whole fanboy thing
No-one says Mark Gooday must be laughing all the way to the bank when people talk about Ashdown gear. Or Dave Boonshoft when people talk about Aguilar gear.
Well spotted👍
